As of late CAPCOM has been making gaming news, but for all the wrong reasons! There are many fans who simply dislike the companies over use of DLC and constant re-packaging of previously released titles (i.e. Marvel Vs Capcom 3, which is now Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3) in an effort to get more money. Then there are those who dislike the fact, that Capcom is single handedly destroying it's flagship titles (i.e. Resident Evil and Devil May Cry) by outsourcing their development to outside companies! I personally, fall into the latter group!
It seems as if Capcom has forgotten what made them Capcom and they appear to be a whole new Company(inexperienced). One far, from what gamers remember them to be! In fact that very topic, is something I've seen on more than a few forums (i.e. What's wrong with Capcom? Capcom losing it?, etc...) and even in gaming magazines (i.e. GI's What's Happening With Capcom?) in which they lay out everything that Capcom has accomplished in the course of it's history!
Many gamers question the actions of Capcom, yet never attempt to understand what's actually occurring! I've seen repeated post about the horror that is supposedly a Devil May Cry "reboot" where replies credit Capcom for the development of the "reboot"! Those replies couldn't be any less incorrect! The only thing Capcom did was (I am in no way defending Capcom) outsource it to the "said developer" (I won't mention them because their not worth mentioning) you know who they are. Anyways, it is this "said developer" that has complete DEVELOPMENTAL control of the IP (i.e. which Capcom owns) Capcom is only the publisher in this scenario!
The same is true of the Resident Evil title (which was pushed back to add the "Heroes Mode" in an attempt to save it from flopping, which it still will) which was outsourced to another "said developer" (again, not worth mentioning) who was again, given complete developmental control over the IP. The question that needs to be asked is, Why? were these flagship titles outsourced?
The answer is the development teams that created these IP's are no longer at Capcom! They've all left, thus you saw Bayonetta (bascially an advanced female Devil May Cry game) developed by former members of Capcom (Shinji Mikami[Resident Evil Creator],Hideki Kamiya [Devil May Cry Creator] which are, along with a few others collective now known as Platinum Games! The new Metal Gear Rising game (another Platinum Games developed game) which is more like the very first Devil May Cry in look and gameplay!
The key here, is that Capcom owns the IP's, therefore they can do just about whatever they want with them! Thus, you see what's occurring now, with both franchises! The end result, however is going to be far from what Capcom thinks will occur! They've projected that ORC (Operation Raccoon City, I don't refer to it as a Resident Evil title because it's far from that) will sell 2 million copies, huh?
This game will sell no where near 2 million copies (i.e. real Resident Evil fans, those who've been with the game since the 1st game will never buy it) which, by some cosmic imbalance does, it will certifiably mark the end of Resident Evil, as fans of the series know it! Which could already be the case, considering Capcom is talking about "rebooting" it like they did Devil May Cry! Thus adding to the destruction of the company, which is already immense!
That aside, there's even a greater issue at hand here, and that is Capcom's attempt to produce westernized style games (mainly in order to compete with the now overproduced FPS market)! This can be seen with the outsourcing to western game developers for the RE and DMC games, as well as in Dragon's Dogma, which is basically Dragon Age (even the promo looks the same, Dragon with the games title as an overlay on it) and it's action adventure game, Monster Hunter rolled into one) not only this but Capcom Japan games not making it to North America (i.e. Sengoku Basara 3: Utage) for lack of communication by it's subsidiary, Capcom USA!
The disconnect between the two, only further's the rapid destruction of a, once TITAN of the gaming industry! There is a glimmer of hope for the company with Asura's Wrath, but once that light dims, Capcom will witness a destruction, the likes of which has never been seen in gaming HISTORY (all for not taking heed to the words of the fans)!

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
