The sense of progress in Xenoblade X doesn't stop at the level cap.

Recently it has come to light that the level cap for party members in Xenoblade X has been set at 60, unlike in the first game.
While this has caused some discontent amongst a small faction of players, there is a ray of hope to this.
Thanks to some well-spoken users across various boards, it has come to light that character improvement and advancement, not including grinding for new weapons/armor, and, by direct association, the sense of fulfilling progression you get through combat, doesn't stop once you reach the level cap, and therefore the lower cap does not have much if any negative impact upon the longevity of the game.

According to some users who have already imported the game and played through it, once you hit 60 for your first set of party members, you still need to
#1 Raise the levels of the extra party characters (of which there are close to, if not more than, 20)
#2 Gear them up and provide them with Skells
#3 Increase the levels of the various Unions through combat and other actions to gain access to their best offerings
#4 Level up your arts, which is done through combat just like leveling
#5 Raise the affinity level between the various party members in order to unlock the highest tier arts, through character-tied special quests, for everyone to use, which is, again, done through leveling.
#6 Raise all of your classes and sub classes to maximum level, yet again done through combat.

And all of that is stuff you can, and probably should, focus on doing before taking on the lvl 65+ Overed and World enemies.
Some enemies are even rumored to reach up to lvl 99, a full 39 or so levels above your own max.
For comparison's sake, the first Xenoblade's highest level enemy was level 120, while your own limit was 99. A mere 21 levels in difference.

On top of that, the pacing for leveling is, apparently, extremely well balanced, so it will not feel like you reach it too quickly.
And with so many individual party members to level up, gear up, and raise affinity with while doing character specific quests and multiplayer activities online, it would seem that the planet Mira is not going to feel any less exciting once your own player avatar hears that fnal level up chime.

What is your take on the lower level cap?
A mistake, or no big deal?

Yeah it is nice to hear , i love to see numbers in my JRPGs , XCX seems to have a good balance of it ( a game like Disgea is too much for instance ) .

My buddy is big into Disgaea, and while I can understand why he loves it from a general gameplay and story perspective, building up a character into a level cap that spans not only numbers in the thousands but also a rebirth system for increasing stats, on top of multifloor dungeons for upgrading weapons....
It's just too overwhelming.
I'd build up enough of an army to complete the story and maybe do a few of the optional bosses, but I'd never have the patience to complete the insanity he's accomplished on it.XD

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit2d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster921d 22h ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

Tanktopmaster921d 22h ago

Let me be clear. This is sarcasm
