I've played FPS after FPS. Call of Duty is fun, and Bad Company 2 is more of a thinking game, but this week I've been playing the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade game Breach, and loving every second of it.
The best description is Rainbow Six Vegas meets Bad Company 2. The cover system and slow paced tactical gameplay from Rainbow meets the more open maps and destructive environments of bad Company 2 and has created a game that will offer something a little different to most.
Of course so far I've seen a lot of people come in and play Breach as a straight FPS, never stopping to discover the neat tricks in the gameplay like shooting out a few little bricks in a wall to make a perfect sniping position, or bringing down a balcony to kill three enemy players. No, instead they play it as a straight FPS and run around at speed never using cover, never thinking about what they're doing, and they get destroyed. Murdered. Annhilated.
Breach has its flaws, i's cover system can be tempremental and the weapons feel a little weak, but the gameplay on offer is something truly great and will hopefully spark a hardcore following.
Oh, and you just have to play Convoy on Ascent. it's tense stuff as you guard your trucks while winding up a moutain path will buildings all around, carefully watching for the glint of a sniper or the sound of an RPG.
The embargo on reviews ends on Wendsday the 26th, and I'll have my review published at exactly 00.01AM on the Wensday.
Now excuse me, I'm away to play some more Breach.

I was wondering how come this game only cost $11 on Steam. Then when I played it, I knew.
It's crap.
