After losing key exclusive titles such Devil May Cry 4 and Grand Theft Auto IV, Sony continues to hold on to one of the last great exclusive titles in it's arsenal in the form of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
The fact that the game has remained exclusive, and continues to be for the PlayStation 3 only should prove instrumental in helping to boost the adoption rate of the console.
"We're telling our fans that if you want to play 'Metal Gear Solid 4', you have to buy a PS3," said Ryan Payton, the assistant producer of the game. "The PlayStation brand has always been good to us, and we're pretty bullish on the PS3."
Because of the high development cost of current-gen games, most publishers prefer to release a game on various platforms in order to try to recover the largest amount of profit, throwing exclusivity out the window.
"We understand publishers are needing to recoup their investment," said Peter Dille, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Sony. "From our perspective, as long as the games aren't going exclusive to other platforms, PS3 gamers are not actually losing anything."
To counter third party developers and their releasing multi-platform games, Sony has ramped up their in house development studios to produce high quality, exclusive, first party games.
The company currently has 15 development studios working on games, more than Microsoft and Nintendo combined, Dille stated, and he also expects there to be 15 PS3 exclusive title to be release between September 2007 to April 2008. heres the link: http://www.psu.com/MGS-4--Last-of-the-great-exclusives--a0002043-p0.php

When Wolf Games unveiled its debut title Public Eye, the announcement felt less like a routine game launch and more like a signal flare for the future of
I will never purchase an AI generated game, I will not contribute to something that takes away artistic human expression and creation in gaming. I'm not one of those people who says, "I hope this fails" like so many often do about everything gaming these days but on this one I have to. AI has it's place, just not here.

If you read Kotaku even semi-regularly, you already know that Xbox has been in a weird spot for some time now. And with today’s news that both Xbox boss Phil Spencer and President Sarah Bond are leaving and the new head of the brand will be a former Meta exec who previously lead Microsoft’s AI division, I think it’s time to call it. Xbox is dead. Time of death: February 20, 2026
Oh come on, Xbox has been dead for at least 10 years now. I think what’s more important right now is Playstation’s death that is very slowly but surely happening through mismanagement and greed.
This is why the views and comments are low, with lame articles that use divide-and-conquer pretensions.

For me, great exclusives are the reason to own a console.
PSWii60 FTW!!!
I know now that most people believe the PS3 has and will continue to have no real "compelling exclusive games" is because they really are shortsighted and ignorant. How else can one explain the continuation of that sentiment this far into the console's life cycle?
MGS 4 the only exclusive left in 2008? LOL.
