
Earlier we reported that Sony has dropped their long lasting advertising partner for 13 years, TBWA/Chiat/Day from their PlayStation account. With that said, however, we can now reveal that the platform holder has chosen a new partner.
Los Angeles based company Deutsch, has won the bid (it wasn’t really an actual contest) to be added to the USD 150m PlayStation advertising account. Some of the candidates for the job included Publicis & Hal Riney, Publicis West, Grey, Young & Rubica, and JWT.
It should be noted that this is SCEA only, TBWA still remains to be on the PlayStation account in Europe, but things could change. Either way, with all the great titles coming out in 2008, it should be interesting to see how this new firm takes the wheel.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.
