After the recent news that PS3’s actually outsold the Wii in Japan for two weeks, it has now emerged that the console has enjoyed a 298% rise in sales in the States in since the beginning of this month. Over at Gamesindustry.biz, they’re attributing the news to the introduction of the 40Gb and 80Gb models, and while that’s true, perhaps it’s actually just a sign that the dawn of PlayStation3 as the all powerful king of the consoles is now beginning.
Only a couple of weeks ago Sony CEO Howard Stringer was predicting something of a coming-of-age for the PlayStation3, pointing to the PlayStation2’s rather slow start. Well, it seems he might just have known what he was talking about. Just like the PlayStation2 at this time in its lifecycle, the PlayStation3 has just left behind a few too many months of underperforming software, to suddenly begin to look like it could win the console war. With plenty of must-have games recently out or on the radar, just maybe the PS3 will actually become, well, the next PS2. visit the link: http://www.pspsps.tv/2007/11/the_rise_of_the_ps3_begins.html

For Southeast Asia, new price changes.
Prices effective starting May 1st, 2026.
Looks like PlayStation took a hit with Marathon and is now quietly adjusting prices worldwide to recover the losses
The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufactures are affected. It'll most likely start affecting smart phones too if it hasn't already. I can't remember the last time any major console maker (Nintendo, Sony, Sega, etc) increased the price of their console mid cycle outside of Microsoft just to make more profit.

CGMagazine writes: "And as I said, the actual game of Kiln is so genuinely boring that playing it to unlock the creative tools was such a massive chore that I genuinely started to resent it by the end. Battling is a monotonous button masher. There are only five arenas, and despite being based on different gods from various mythologies, none are particularly memorable in visual style or music. And it’s all just such a homogeneous mess of nothing."

It's funny how no one commented on this article i wonder how many comments it would've had if it was a PS3 doom article?
The sudden shift of the PS3 into higher gear seems to have taken the industry and the media by suprise. Now i can only see alot greater things when Sony shifts up again come next year.
is running this race like its a marathon and not a sprint and thats why they will succeed. I think that when Sony approach the 360 in overall sales whenever that is the "Soft" will launch there next system and claim victory lol.
they love to hate. they hate to be OWNED.
they can twist many things around and deny facts. at the end of the day that doesnt bring the playstation down, it only makes it stronger.
