I have been a member of N4G for well over a year and in that time have encountered more than my fair share of problems. From being unrightfully banned from the commenting in the GamerZone to having my forum threads/replies mysteriously locked and/or deleted.
In this thread you will find a list of all the Staff members here at N4G. I’m sure everyone has seen the encouraging words from Staff members telling us that if they ever need help… just ask. Over the course of my time at N4G I have asked for assistance many, many times and have a short history with almost all Staff members. This blog is my view of all Staff members on N4G and how well I think they are doing their job, in my opinion.
If any other members ever require assistance from a member of the N4G Staff I hope the following will help. If any of you out there have never contacted a Staff member I suggest you start with a simple Private Message with whatever queries you may have as they are a lot of help, most of the time.
The N4G Administrators:
Dusty:
Where do I start? He restored my CRank when it mysteriously decreased by two, and he revived one of my articles under a hail of spam and lame reports. I have PMed him a few times in the past and have always gotten a relatively quick and helpful response. He occasionally makes an appearance in the forums and any site announcements on the main page are always done by him. He is my ideal administrator.
DragonFly:
The supposed ‘coder’ at N4G and apparently one of the owners, I have not had any contact with him. I have never seen him make a comment on the main page, submit anything, or participate in the forums, (although upon further stalking of his bio I realize that he does do the above activities, just extremely rarely). I’m assuming he was the man behind N4G moving out of its beta phase, and for this I applaud him. Although, I really don’t see how a little red PM dot in the forums could take so long to implement…
ZeroTolerance:
The host of the N4G podcast and Administrator #3. In my experience, most things he does are in direct relation to the podcast, and the occasional locking of threads. If Administrator help is what you need, I highly suggest avoiding ZeroTolerance. I have contacted him via Private Message on 2-3 occasions and can’t remember getting anything more than half assed answers…if I even got an answer. The most recent issue I had with him was when I contacted him, 21 days ago. The PM I sent was over a page long and a very serious issue to me, a day later he replied, saying he will look into it (in that many words). A few days later I inquired again, and got the same reply. At this point I gave up and contacted multiple moderators regarding my issue. My dilemma is long and done with, but it’s been over 2 weeks since I last heard from him. I understand things may come up that are beyond your control, but a simple PM saying you are busy or recommending me to someone else would have sufficed.
JamieSI:
He is just as quiet as DragonFly, but more visibly active than the other three Administrators combined. It quite common to see his 10 approvals in the wee hours of the morning, which is extremely helpful especially when the Pending News section is particularly crowded. However, back in my contributing days I seem to remember that he would frequently approve articles that did not fully adhere to N4G’s posting guidelines, and I’ve never seen him make a Report (although I have seen him occasionally edit a story). I haven’t had any contact with him.
The N4G Moderators:
Catastrophe:
She has been a top 10 contributor for as long as I can remember, and surprisingly retained this status upon her promotion to Moderator. Along with being an active contributor, she frequents the forums, and from time to time does comment. She is also one of the top contributors in the User Review section of N4G. Over a long period of time I have had contact with her on occasion and have always been impressed with her dedication to her Moderators responsibly. It is clear she recognizes that those are people she is talking to… and that this isn’t ‘just a job’. At times she can be quite tough though, tough to a point of borderline stubbornness (take the irony of that statement in which ever way you see fit). But she is fair.
Diselage:
Some of his Signatures I take a personal offense to, so right off the bat I’m not too happy with him. He is active in the forums and apparently one of the few Moderators who moderate on the main site on a regular basis. I have had some contact with Diselage and unfortunately is another Staff member I cannot recommend if one is in need of help. I’ve been ignored a few times and have gotten the ‘I’ll look into it’ reply more than once. More recently, I got the impression that he just hands his work off to Cat… but I’m sure that isn’t the case.
Dukester101:
Easily the Moderator whom I have contacted by Private Message the most, and the friendliest. He isn’t as active in the forums as he once was, but judging from his monstrous post count it is clear that he is the most active. I have consistently gotten helpful responses and like Catastrophe, he treats people like actual human beings. I have disagreed with Duke on many societal issues in the forums, but at the same time I have always asked and received help from him. I apologize if I am filling up your PM Inbox, but if anyone is in need of any help on N4G… you can never go wrong with Duke.
RuJoshin:
He is a frequent user of the Banhammer and is an active member of the forums (although not as active as he once was). I have had personal conflicts with RuJoshin in the past but in spite of that he seems to be a quality Moderator. Although I haven’t been very happy with his replies via PM, he always does reply and goes into detail. I was once banned from the GamerZone and was contacted by him about the ban, instead of the usual other way around. A quick and easy thing to do that all Moderators may want to follow.
ItsDubC, jay2, zerofuction, zonetrooper5:
Four different Moderators whom I have had little to no contact with. ItsDubC ignored a PM I sent recently, jay2 doesn’t always follow the rules the rest of N4G has to stick to, I can’t remember having any contact with zerofunction, and zonetrooper5 has helped me in the past but never followed through on it. I don’t think I know enough about them to form my own opinion, but I suggest leaving these four as a last resort.
PS360WII, snoop_dizzle, Syko 360:
I’ll reserve judgement of the three n00b Moderators for a later date. I have seen them lock the occasional thread, but I don’t feel they have been Moderators long enough to acquire the ignorant, happy-go-lucky attitude that comes with being a member of the N4G Staff.
All this is just my opinion and is solely from my experience, but I would love to hear opinions from other members in the comment section below. If any Staff members have a problem with this, maybe I PMed you when you were having a bad day… or you may have deleted my PM accidently. But I suggest taking this as a challenge. Next time I or any other member contacts you, you may want to look into fulfilling your duties as an N4G Staff member and give a useful reply.

Square Enix will announce a new title in the Life is Strange series on January 20 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:0 p.m. ET, the company teased.

Where Winds Meet on PS5 is a wuxia MMO with strong action combat, open-ended exploration, and plenty to do if you like setting your own pace.

Travis Bruno of Capsule Computers writes:
"It is hard to believe that there would be a time that not only would the Western releases of The Legend of Heroes franchise manage to catch up to the Japanese releases of this incredibly lengthy franchise, but that the game’s that helped kick it off would be getting remade at the very same time. A few months ago we reviewed the fresh remake of Nihon Falcom’s Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter and now here we are, visiting the most recent release in a story featuring characters and plot elements spanning all the way from that very first game twenty-two years ago. It’s not often that a video game sequel requires full knowledge of its predecessors, and in many ways The Legend of Heroes tried to do that with Daybreak, but now that everything has gathered together in The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon, players best be ready for the most character packed, lore heavy, game of the franchise since Reverie."
Thanks for posting this tN. The revisions you made make it seem a little less "hateful."
Thanks for voicing your opinion!
Damn how long till we get an update on the three n00b mods? I am dying with suspense! lol
Yeah lol I am a n00b...im only a few days old lol.
Edit: And yeah as syko said, when do we get the update on us? lol.
For me, its always been a little daunting, asking a higher up a question. I'll definitely take into consideration your review of the moderators/administrators. Bubble
Really tough? I guess everyone's entitled to an opinion. I do assure you every time I said I would look in to the problem i did. I may not always be able to do any thing but i do raise the issue.
