Microsoft's press conference definitely caught my attention. C'mon Halo 1-4 for 60 bucks... aaaaaaand beta access to Halo 5! Not to mention an anniversary drop of Halo 2, probably the most competitive FPS of its time, I couldn't have been the only 20 year old kicking and screaming (Will Ferrel?) That moment they showed us Halo fans what we've been longing for.
I instantly decided to save up for an Xbox One because of that. So in many ways, that's what Microsoft wanted us to do, they convinced me to purchase their console by the end of 2014. Not to mention getting content first, and Sunset Overdrive. That being said, Microsoft showed little of their future. I guess I was expecting Microsoft to bring some new features to xbox live, possibly some further innovation of the Kinect camera. Now I know what you are thinking, "IT'S DAY ZERO!!!!!" Trust me, I'm still expecting great things from Microsoft this year. But Sony brought more to the table at their conference.
Aside from some great games and surprises (Destiny Alpha this thrusday) Sony gave us more information about Playstation Now, the streaming service that may define the future of console services. They put an emphasis on Free-To-Play and gave the world a reason to subscribe to PS Plus, for goodness sake they are making a original television series. They made a point that both Ps3 and VITA still have a future. Sony also brought japanese products to the west, Playstation TV, which again innovates to work alongside Playstation Now. Lastly they touched (I was expecting more honestly) on Project Morpheus and announced some playable demos at E3.
So as I said, Sony did a great job introducing some new, and old, concept yesterday. In the end, it's about the games and Microsoft has more unannounced games coming up this week, Watch out Sony! I'm excited to see what's hidden for us gamers this year at E3 2014

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
And what did Sony "win" exactly?
Fanboys forget that E3 is - was - suppose to be for presenting a sub-type of electronic goods to the general consumer market. To give news bites to the likes of ABC, CNN and even FOX. Though the last use games more as excuse for mass shootings. Gaming only really wins when there's a major attention grabber, and the last time such honestly happened was the Wii.
Sony might have a potential sleeper hit from E3 in the form of Playstaton TV, but only if they advertise it close to a level Amazon is advertising their media box. And I doubt that's going to happen, though it needs to.
I thought Sony lost horribly. They could have shown games people werent expected at E3, but we really saw nothing surprising except lbp3
