Don't get me wrong: I'm not another one of those idiots who completely disses a service without having a clue, or any reason to base it on. I generally don't speak up until something is actually up, and with Playstation Plus, I can't avoid the feeling that we're getting screwed now.
The first couple of months were fine: I liked ALL of the content I was given, I rarely buy anything off the PSN store - so it was a nice change of pace for me. Like others, I felt impulsed to go all out and get the year's subscription - something which I thought I'd look forward to. The only downside I could have seen was that I was on the European PSN Store, which is notorious for getting screwed over by the Japanese and American Stores. However, while this was still an issue, I was completely satisfied with all the content at my disposal: until I saw the list of "goodies" to be put on for November, and realized that the stuff we were getting monthly was slowly decreasing in quality AND quantity. Don't get me wrong: I LOVED the little treats we get randomly every month - particularly the Fallout 3 DLC, which if you still had the old game WITHOUT DLC was money in the bank. All this was great, but if you take a step back and look, the PS+ crew seem to be struggling to supply decent content monthly, and only giving the best stuff as they see fit. It makes me feel unwanted, like an extra weight that people have to shove anything towards in order to fulfill a "promise" hastily.
Maybe it's just me: I don't take advantage of the discounts given because I don't own the game or want the DLC, and sometimes I don't download the tiny light-content minis - nothing seems to jump out at me anymore, and only in random slots during the month do we see some quality games. It HAS been a while since PS+ came out, what I think we need is a change. Remember how they said PS+ was an "evolving" service? It needs to evolve RIGHT NOW. I'm not talking just hand-me-down games forgotten in the PSN library - I mean something BIG, that will make people proud to own PS+. Like a new feature, perhaps - I mean, the only noteworthy ones we have right now are automatic downloads and the little PS+ symbol on our friends list (which is probably the only one ON your list >.<).
Not too many people seem to have PS+. It didn't exactly get the biggest kickstart this summer, and I've noticed that for some odd reason, people are starting to buy into the idea NOW of all times. This is a critical time for PSN: if they announce a new feature before christmas panic sets in, more people will get it and we will get more from our hard-earned cash. If they leave it too late, all the money will go to christmas presents for children (boooo!! :D)
There are many features that Sony could incorporate into PS+. After all, they have neglected to add them to the ordinary PSN, so why not PS+? Possible features could be like cross-game chat, PS+ Home (an executive lounge for hardcore gamers :D), the ability to change your PSN name, storing back-up saves to your PSN ID, bonus features for playstation-exclusive games, and the ability to download something WHILE you play a game.
There are tons of ideas that can help attract people to PS+, and make people who have it glad they paid for it. It's getting stale now, and something needs to be done to spice it up before it's too late!
Do you think Sony is supporting PS+ users enough? If you are a non-PS+ user, what features would make you want to try out the service?

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
I don't have PS+ but I agree with you. You said that PS need to bring something to PS+ that will make people proud to have PS+, and thus make people like me who don't have it, want to have it. But ever since it's formal announcement and of everything it will offer, nothing has stood out for me. The PS classics you get seem cool but rarely any of them would be the top notch ones that I'd be interested in, like a FF game or something like MGS perhaps. The beta system is awful, I mean the promise of PS+ is that you WILL get into exclusive betas. Yeah, some people will, and some won't and that is a terrible thing to do given the fact that the exclusive betas offer is arguably the main reason why a lot of people chose to buy into PS+.
At the moment there's barely anything PS+ offers that I personally am envious of, which I think is where the problem lies because I doubt I'm the only one. I have a number of friends on my PSN list that have PS+ and not many of them are happy with it, and rightly so. How many of those thought they were going to go straight into the KZ3 beta but ended up having to search out keys from friends and websites? The offers of other games with PS+ don't seem great to me either. LBP and/or Ratchet & Clank: QfB (not sure which one, or if both) are cool games, but I have both of them, and even if I didn't, I can find both of them for about €5 if I did want them.
I think with the way PS+ is structured is only really worthwhile for people that buy from the PS Store week-in, week-out, because otherwise those discounts are going to waste apart from a rare buy, and the free downloadable titles are often ones that people don't really want, but sure who's gonna say no to something you get given free like that, right?
That's my outsider opinion of it anyway.
I don't have PS+ either but I fully agree and I think the options you listed sound great.
On top of that, give the PS+ people the beta's to games like Killzone 3 (and don't give them away to every other website in the world until after PS+ people get a wack at it).
On top of that, a discount on MMO games SOE publishes would be mint since they are going to expect another monthly fee from me.
Damn, you beat me to the blog, I wanted to right one on Plus. You even had a clever title!
I completely agree with you on this, I find that + really lacks the needed value for a purchase. People boast about the free games but I question how many titles people enjoy.
Wipeout was a great way to start but remember that the studio creating it closed down so I don't know how generous Sony can be in the future.
They NEED a new in-game dashboard, cross chat, and some other features worth paying for. Sony lacks a lot of simple fixes and they are very slow with delivering basic things that have been asked for since the PS3 launched.
PSN Japan does the online I think and they just don't represent what gamers in the US and UK want. I don't see PSN ever catching up to XBL in terms of features because MS simply has the experience with the online software and will always stay a step ahead in terms of what their service provides.
Then there's the issue of XBL dominating over PSN, especially for games like Black Ops where Dual-sign ins gets shafted. I would HATE to be a Plus member and feel that sort of treatment. Sony needs to be a little more aggressive with major titles like Black Ops
I have most of the free psn plus free games. Alot of people act like they cant wait for some ps1 games but they suck with the old playing control which most 1st generation games are like . Lets not start the paying service for xbox . It was always a paying service.
The biggest crap sony sold was free betas and now you must be plus customer and be invited. Why is there no free ps2 or psp games? why aren't there any good playable games. where is home support, dynamic themes or free movies. The best free game maybe zen pinball which I already bought. They could of gave away a free table. They gave away wipeout the first month and that game always sucked; every one of them.Luckily I bought plus for three months and I am glad thats all I bought. Its not like ps3 user didnt buystuff before plus. I did all the time but now sony only awards plus members but barely. I have all three systems and if xbox has the same game as sony I now buy from xbox live. they are always giving away points. and now if you use bing the search engine you can trade points for xbox live points. And it works I have 400 free points in the last week alone. Cross talk is over rated. on xbox people dont chat like they do in psn games. Red dead redemption for sony there are always people talking for example but on the 360 I notice little sound and most mics off. The same for borderlands and others. so I guess you stay in a party but get no feedback from other for the most part.
Playstation minus is what it should be called. And yet I still play heavy rain, lbp rb1 2 3.rdr ps3 and many others. I bought all rdr ps3 dlc .
txwolf63 on ps3 and nightwolf63 on 360
