I. Am. Pissed.
Let me tell you the little story that inspired me to speak up about how annoyed I am, about the News system:
There I was, randomly surfing the internet for any black ops-related news when suddenly I find the new leaked black ops zombies video - if you haven't seen it already, it's number one in the top news right now, if you wanna check it out. The video had only been uploaded that day, and no one had seen it, and claimed it as a news article on N4G, so I thought that I'd go for it. After I put it into Pending, my article was suddenly spammed with millions of reports: "Fake, Fake, Fake, Proved Fake Numerous Times, Uploaded Yesterday (was NOT), Fake, Why Nazis, Fake, Mp44, Fake Fake FAKE"!!!!
Ok, well maybe not that many times - but as you can see, people were being jerks about the truth. Soon after my article failed, and I would have just walked away with this minor injustice - but society wasn't done mocking me yet. Going on N4G today, I happen to notice nothing other than the video I had found and sourced here, up in the number one spot!! Imagine that: I could have had a top news article, but instead some weasely little runts spammed my article, and it got taken down for this duplicate to claim the prize!!! Not only was this a total smack to the face, but also I had noticed some of the "fake" spammers on my article commenting on the copy article, like they haven't seen it before!!! COME ON!!!!
Yeah, I'm ranting - but it's still annoying to think: you'd be annoyed too, right? Anyhoo, that's when I thought back to other articles I submitted: most of them are called fake when they are 100% true, they ALWAYS get one asshole who spams, trolls or is just plain offensive - I've seen it in comments to other articles as well. The problem lies with those high-voiced MW2 kids, who idealise anything game-related and think if they imitate it, they will be cool! They are the ones trolling Youtube as well I'll bet, and now they've snaked their way into N4G, leaving trolls and spam everywhere, right after reporting any article in sight as "Fake". They probably don't even look at the source!! They can be as simple as a fanboy spreading his one-sided views on ANY opposing article, or it can be as sad as someone who can't be bothered earning brownie points and make friends, so he spams every article JUST to get a response for attention - you know, so he can pretend he actually HAS friends? Joking aside, you'd think everyone is allowed freedom, but if you give a socially backwards kid too much power: even contributer status, he'll abuse it to hell, ruining it for everyone.
Don't get me wrong: I love the N4G system as much as anyone else, but it is when these inconvenient people don't live up to their contributer status, and... err... CONTRIBUTE to the site, and refuse to abide by simple, general netiquette - that, my friends, is when we have to do something about them.
So tell me guys, have you ever become victim of one of these notorious N4G trollers? What advice could you give to keep articles troll-free?

CGMagazine writes: "And as I said, the actual game of Kiln is so genuinely boring that playing it to unlock the creative tools was such a massive chore that I genuinely started to resent it by the end. Battling is a monotonous button masher. There are only five arenas, and despite being based on different gods from various mythologies, none are particularly memorable in visual style or music. And it’s all just such a homogeneous mess of nothing."

Skewed and Reviewed have posted an interview with Author Mike Diver about his pending book on Aliens video games.

Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes successfully translates the series' signature macabre atmosphere into a harrowing first-person experience.
I don't wanna be "that" guy but if you wanna avoid the bad part of the CoD community (if this keeps happening to you) then steer clear of articles like those on N4G before the next game is released. I haven't had this myself with any articles (in fairness I haven't submitted many) and most of the CoD-related articles do indeed seem to get a lot of attention, for better or worse. Maybe you're just unlucky and there are some ass***** that are picking on your articles in particular, don't see why they would do that though.

I'm not joking.
Unfortunately this is something that is always going to happen in a mostly self-moderated community. The topic you were reporting on is unfortunately prone to immature and childish behaviour - a reflection of the community that is attached to it.
I wouldn't take it too personally - you yourself know that you found the article 'first'. In the end, it's only some points in an online community - it's not going to change your life in any major way.
I know that's not really a comfort and I do understand how you feel about the 'injustice' - but it's just not worth causing yourself any grief over. I hope at least ranting about it provided some relief ;)
The funny thing is, someone just reported this blog.
Irony, anyone? :/
