How many times have you turned on your PS3, started to feel nostalgic and reached for one of your favourite ol' PS2 games that you miss, only to remember that your stupid PS3 doesn't have backwards compatibility for the PS2? That's all fine for me, as I keep my dusty old PS2 still hooked up to my TV - but what if some other bloke isn't as lucky, and has no way of replaying his favourite ever game on the widest spread console in the world? Yeah, it is the best-selling console in the history of games, and yet there is little to no support for it now. Of course, this could've all been avoided by Sony simply adding backwards compatibility to ALL PS3s instead of a select few. I mean, most of them play PS1 games - and the ones that DO play PS2 games are either unable to do PS1 games, or are just plain bad at reading PS2 discs!
Now, Sony are trying to patch this up by releasing PS2 HD Collections - which started with God of War 1+2, and that was seen as a total success. Later on, we are now getting others such as ths Sly Cooper HD Collection, and the Ico HD Collection. There's no doubt that the ability to play old PS2 games in vibrant HD is a hit with us fans. However, the PS3 is on its last legs with the next-gen consoles coming out in a couple of years. The original games are running out, and it is gonna be sequels from now on - so now would be the perfect time to bring back old PS2 franchises in HD, to remind people of the story for the next installment. Now that we've established that this is a kick-ass idea, what does the future hold for HD remakes? I mean, it is practically impossible to do it for PS1 games without changing the format. Don't get me wrong - some games are capable, but right now the PS2 seems to be the leading participant. So, here's a short list of games I'd like to see strung up onto the PSN store in stunning HD bundles:
Kingdom Hearts HD Collection
This series has been forced into the handheld section for the last 4 years, and I think it is time they had another console release - so without any canon titles in the near future, why shouldn't they make use of this and re-release the Kingdom Hearts games on the PSN store - or better yet, include the handheld games that non-PSP/DS users haven't seen! Can you imagine Kingdom Hearts - with Trophy Support?!? The kick-ass meter is off the scales here! It would also be good if they made it the Final Mix version that was the HD remake - and with English menus this time, so we know what the hell we are doing :)
Silent Hill HD Collection
C'mon, who DIDN'T see this one coming? Any game that has you kicking about in the dark armed with a flashlight and only 2 handgun bullets left is worthy of HD. Hell, even the PS1 game could get in on this - all of the games except for Homecoming, which is already HD lol.
Tomb Raider HD Collection

Note: I only put this in here to avoid my ass getting kicked for NOT putting it in. Everyone is still awaiting that remake of VII, so why not make the HD Collection part of that? :D
Resident Evil HD Collection
This one would pwn sooooo much ass!! ....That is all.
Of course there are many others I'd like to see in collections, like Ratchet and Clank, GTA, Jak and Daxter, the list goes on and ON...

I'd love for a majority of ps2 games to be remade but what i'd like them to do is release them on PSN as single games for example for the GoW Collection tbey should allow you to just buy GoW1 or 2. Of course if they did this it most likely wouldn't be until after they released it on disc so they could get as many sales that way as they could.
The collection I want the most is an MGS collection, followed by Devil May Cry, and then a Legacy of Kain collection. After those everything is just gravy to me, sadly I doubt we'll get any of those which is sad since i'm sure they would sell fairly well.
I just platinumed the God of War Collection, and I'd loved it! It is also because the trophies and the HD-Remake! Also I was not familiar with the serie and this was a great change to get in it before I buy God of War III!
There must come more collections! And there will come more collections. I Will buy the ICO/SoTC collection for sure and if the rumors is true I will buy also the PoP, Splinter Cell and MK Arcade collections!
If Valve bringing Left 4 Dead 3 to the PS3, I would see also a L4D 1/2 (with all the DLC) collection!! :)

no they're not, they're trying to make more $. there are certainly benefits to be had with a shiny new HD release (check my comment history); but call a spade a spade...
