Why Treyarch would be CRAZY to leave out Zombie Mode in Black Ops

If you could name the ONE distinguishing feature of Call of Duty: World at War, what would you say? No, not "brraaaains...." (well, half right..) - Nazi Zombies, duh! It wasn't that clear to begin with, but as DLC packs grew, and the zombie universe began to unfold, we realized the potential of this major selling point for Treyarch. What started out as a mere gag turned out to be to greatest thing that probably ever happened to Treyarch, and it totally BLEW the DLC pack sales out of the water! I don't know what it is: maybe it's the sheer terror of being mutilated by zombies right at round 34, maybe it is the way the moonlight bounces off a crawler's bald head - there is SOMETHING that really attracts people to Nazi Zombies. It got so popular that they even started to add a storyline to it, and extremely fun easter eggs! In fact, me and my friends STILL throw down the occasional game of Shi No Numa or Der Riese, almost 2 YEARS after its release! That has to mean something, eh?

Even after such a long time of zombie goodness, dedicated fans STILL believe that the alleged "Map Pack 4" will come any day now - give it up guys, for christ sake, the new CoD game is nearly here T.T - has it really affected people so much? Well, I don't know what to tell you. Unless you've played it yourself, there is no other way to describe the magic and thrill this game mode transpires. Actually, most people tend to play Nazi Zombies more than Multiplayer at times! It truly is a phenomenon, and one that has made Treyarch make BIG bucks. Now, people have been wondering what Black Ops can offer that MW2 hasn't. After all, it is REALLY a tough debate, seeing as MW2 is one of the best-selling games EVER. You ponder on what can give Treyarch its edge back? Look no further than Zombies - the randomest saviour that you can EVER think of.

Treyarch would be completely BONKERS to try and face Infinity Ward's blockbuster game with Campaign and Multiplayer alone. No offense - I'm sure those modes will be ground-breaking, but it is REALLY tough for them to even think about going it by themselves, and I'm sure they know that. Even so, no zombies has been confirmed as of yet, although rumors and partial teasers have been torturing us for the past few months, how long do they plan on keeping us sweating??? They can't ditch zombie mode, or else they will lose a rather large portion of the fanbase. We realize they are concentrating on the authentic campaign more, and have announced a "unique co-op mode", but my strongest worry isn't even about the zombies BEING there: they will, I assure you.

No, no, my fear is that they have changed the format and style of the zombies mode. The original formula worked great, it is really risky to run wild and change things that the fans liked most. For all we know, it could be free-roaming, with xp, and no windows - not saying it couldn't work, but no one can say for sure right now. If they have tinkered with the format, then that could be why they are reluctant to announce zombies officially. The best thing I think is possible for Treyarch right now is to announce zombies in early September, and announce a few details at a time: and then work on fan feedback.

My wishlist for Black Ops Zombie Mode is waaay more maps available from the start, maybe unlockable after you gain a certain amount of points - who knows, maybe an xp system could work! Keep with the easter eggs, as they were part of what compelled people to zombies: the mystery. Maybe there could be rules, like an arena mode: set the amount of zombies, their strength, speed, what guns are available, that sorta thing. Clearly, it cannot be "Nazi" zombies, so it will be interesting to see how they change it to suit the game's background. Mod levels would also be nice, and it could work if Valve's Steam-like thingy comes to the PS3: but that is a WHOLE other topic! What else.... I'd also like to see bigger varieties of zombies, like with different clothes, different expressions, different hair-doos, y'know. More perks would be cool too, and the ability to turn them on and off if you're feeling REALLY hardcore! Of course, this is just what I'd like to see, most of it probably wouldn't work ;)

So readers, what addition would you like to see in Black Ops Zombies (if it exists >.>)? Do you think Treyarch are even planning a Zombie Mode, or is it gonna be something similar to that, but waaaay different?
