Multi-game Clans...What are those?

Multi-game clans are the latest innovations by online gamers. People will join these clans through a game such as World of Warcraft without knowing what they are. Then they will be pulled into a Ventrillo server and the rest is history. People realize that they can play WoW with this guild, but also play Counter Strike: Source with them as well. Multi-game clans are similar to governments. Each has a different system running. Most of them have ranks so that the more you play the higher you aspire. This keeps the new members around and playing. Some run in the form of Anarchy and some in Aristocracy. Clans can have one absolute leader with a higher staff that is above single games, then each game (or so called division) has a leader. Most clans will have two leaders for each game. Recruiting is a key part to staying alive as a clan. A clan is nothing without members. This key point is what makes "clanning" so cutthroat.  Clans will stop at nothing to get members. One method is stealing from other clans.; To start a clan you must have a loyal following already because is not it is likely that your members will be taken by a clan that has more members which gives it more resources. More members means more divisions, better website, and more game servers. This is more incentive to switch clans.

I have been in and ran many clans myself.  I was once that person playing Guild Wars, and the ad was too good to be true.  It turned out that I was about to be in a terribly run anarchy.  I joined and a year later I was one of the top ranking officers in my division and the next day I was in a new clan.  I was in absolute disgust for the co leader of the division.  I wrote a nasty post on the forums and am now banned from the clan.  This is just another day in the life of a clan.  People quit and leave all the time.  The main reason I left that clan is because I got a better offer.  I was offered partial leadership for another clan.  It was only partial  leadership because we changed the anarchy system.  I devised an idea to make a Council of Elders.  About ten people sat on the council and it consisted of an appointed Council Head who was in no division and the other nine members were division leaders.  Each council member had a “squad” or group of members who voted on issues.  The Council member would take their cote and his into effect when voting for an issue on the Council.  This sounds great on paper, but the Council Leader was a mistake.  He took over as the dictator.  The Council Leader was not my idea, but the making of the Council.  This clan soon fell apart.  I jumped around here and there, but I never really stayed at a clan.  I am solo for the time being, but I have always boggled the idea of starting a clan.  I decided that it is too much drama so no thanks.

Multi-game clanning is a very good way to meet fellow gamers and play new games.  Be wary though.  Make sure you get into a stable system, like my first one, and don’t pick fights…like my first one.

I was in a multi-game clan for quite a while (actually, I'm not sure whether I still am or not) but I stopped dedicating my time to it, because I'm mostly the kind of person who goes online to play for fun. Clans are good and all, but when you take them seriously, it defeats the whole point of why we play games in the first place.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit13d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
