Well I finally did it. The unthinkable and the unforgivable. I bought a PS3. So after spending two weeks with it I am still torn on whether to love it or hate it. Having had a 360 since launch (Well multiple 360's in fairness) I have played a sick amount of games this Gen and Xbox LIVE is an amazing online experience overall. Adding on top of my enjoyment of the 360 was my initial distaste for Sony's handling of the PS3 launch. I had many issues with the PS3 at first. Blu-Ray? Was it truly needed? Price? Is it worth $600? Games? Not as many games as 360? Controller? Why are they lying and leaving out rumble?
Well fast forward to now and Sony has made most of the adjustments I was complaining about. Blu-Ray is the outright winner and makes the PS3 an attractive beast now. $600 is now $400 and they paid immersion (Finally) and now we have the DS3. However on to the games. Now before you stop reading Sony fans HEAR ME OUT! The biggest problem I have is not that there aren't any games for the PS3, just that most of the games I WOULD'VE bought I already own for the 360. Great games such as Call of Duty 4, Rock Band, Skate and DMC4. So really at this point my options for games are reading like this. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Warhawk, Motorstorm. An extremely limited list FOR ME IMO.
While there are more exclusives than that on PS3. They fail to fall into my want list. Anyways moving on to the positives I have enjoyed for the past couple weeks....
One of the first things I did was check out the customization options by downloading themes off the net. This option completely owns the 360. It is FULLY customizable and adds a real flavor to your PS3. Next on my list was downloading a few demos, I was immediately impressed by the fact that when you scrolled over the demo it showed up in the background. GT:HD was fun and got a lot of play for a small demo.
PSN is really good for a free service and the games like High Velocity bowling feel of a much higher quality for $10 over some of the games on XBLA offered for the same price. Warhawk was also very smooth and mostly lag free from what I played, Very impressive for free IMO.
Next up was Blu Ray which is the main reason for my purchase. With my recent purchase of a 56" 1080p DLP TV I was excited that the HD-DVD vs. Blu Ray war was over and I could finally settle on a Hi-Def media. Really what else can you say about Blu Ray it is amazing. Picture quality is so clear you want to rip out your eye balls. The sound is much better than standard DVD. People sit with their jaws on the floor the first time they see it on my big ass TV.
Now as you can probably tell I am still wondering whether I love or hate this thing. I might need more time but, I am also unclear whether my love of the 360 is keeping me from letting the PS3 fully into my life (Adamalicious and Catastrophe would agree with the latter). Anyways I love the Blu Ray and a few of the games are cool. I think it will take the big hitters to get me fully on board though. Games like GT5 and MGS4 after spending some serious time on these games it should be much easier to love my big shiny round box.

The solo developer known as Dizzie hopes to push a new update in between six to 12 months.

Iron Galaxy: 'This year, we're adopting a new posture to accept these current market conditions as permanent.'
my two favorite pros and cons from your list:
+No fear the thing will break while turning it on. (I lol'd, I'm still waiting for you to change your name to Syko6th360)
-Thing gets mad Dusty. (isn't that just Phoenix ;))
But most comes to the individual, what do i want and what does it offer..
ok if the PS3 is the "dark side", im enjoying it.
I know that some of the PS3's exclusive games don't seem to shine as brightly as the 360's last year but give a few a try. My recommendations are as follows.
PSN:
1.Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection- if you like fighting games, this is the best and the online adds hours of freaking fun.
2.Everyday Shooter: Crazy fun to zone out to. Play like no other game.
3.Flow: Same as above. Its not a game you really beat. You experience it.
Retail:
1.Uncharted- Stupid good looking and a great story. Once you start it you won't want to stop.
2.Heavenly Sword- Gorgeous and fun to play when you get a hang of the gameplay. The story is great.
3.R&C:TOFD-I have never played any of the series thinking they were kiddie games. They aren't! Great weapons and a ton of humor.
Already own High Velocity Bowling, SuperStardust HD and Warhwk. Will check out the other two for sure today.
