Recently I just bought a Playstation 3 after 15 years of PC gaming. I did a ton of research online on which console I should buy. The 360 or PS3. Thats when I was introduced to the world of the console war. On the PC we never had anything like this. Sure there were fanboys of different games and even PC manufacturers but nothing like in the world of the console. So much venom is spewed over who is the best and which system will reign supreme when the dust settles, it really brings a smile to my face to see people fight just to validate their purchase. In the end thats really what it is all about. Nobody playing a 360 cares about Microsoft, just as nobody playing a PS3 cares about Sony. So in the end, whoever wins the console war, if there is a winner, all it will do is make one side feel like they have made the right purchase.
The war has had some positive effects though, that I will admit. We as gamers are getting tons of great features on our respective consoles. From Xbox live to Playstation Home (if it ever comes out) all of us in the end win. If I could I would go out and buy an Xbox right now just so I could experience everything Microsoft has to offer (excluding the red ring). So lets keep up the fight and watch the console giants continue to give us great features on our systems! Let them fight for our hard earned dollars. Make them spend a ton of theirs all on us..the consumer. We do this and everyone all around will win.
I haven't even mentioned the Nintendo Wii. This system is blowing everything out of the water. The reason for this I believe is because it is so easy for a family to jump right in and enjoy it. People my mothers age all the way to my 3 year old daughter can have tons of fun on it, and thats just something the PS3 and 360 will never have. I own a Wii but as a "gamer" this system just doesn't have enough for what gamers demand. Mainly killing our fellow gamers and calling them noobs.
Square Enix has announced a new crossover with the Evangelion will be coming to Final Fantasy XIV in the form of a new Alliance Raid.

While this sci-fi, rogue-like, bullet hell, third-person shooter has issues that keep it from being a classic, it still manages to be exciting and engaging.

In an exclusive interview with Game File, new(ish) Xbox boss Asha Sharma and Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty explain their vision for Microsoft’s gaming division
if you don't experience the red ring of death, you will never experience the full 360 experience that Mircrosoft has to offer...
As we speak I'm trying to talk the wife into giving the green light on the 360. I'll keep you updated on how that goes..I FEAR NO RED RINGS!
In this war of consoles as well, but i am a traitor! I dive in the trenches for one side only to partake of the other's fruit moments later. i will die a swine's death!
I asked my wife if i could get a 360 (already got the PS3) guess what she said?
Yeah man...
Overall decent blog. I get so tired of the console war. I love games and understand frustrations. I just wish more people would play for games then for companies... I do and really I feel more fruitful for it.
