Hey i'm Stonycoot new to posting blogs but i want to share this opinion i have with you.
How can you trust the opinion of another person that has so much of an effect on you that you wont purchase a game?
Personally i have a system that i use that has never failed me. It is very easy and simple its call Fun,Good,Great Its a system that i think should spread through out the industry its absurd to think a game like Halo is considered one of the greatest games of all time when there are games 10x fold better on the 360 I.e( Gears of war, Bioshock, Mass effect ,Counter strike).
You mite be asking yourself what the hell does Fun,good,great come in here and i will be explaining that in just a alittle.
Lets compare some games and how they were reviewed ( All meta averages) Dark Sector 7.1 Lair 4.2 Haze 6.9 Graw 9.0 Mass effect 9.1 These are all a mix of games exclusive and not.All of these games have something in common 1. i've played them all 2. They all suffer from Very harsh Clipping, Texture pop ups, Harsh slow downs, decent AI.
So why i ask did they all get different scores I believe that the review system in most mags and sites including this one are very hypocritical . They( the reviewer) already have a judgment on a game before even playing. How can you trust someone like that. Fun Good Great will help change everything I believe these are very different and very simple way to change the hypocrites that review games
Fun - Assassins Creed, Halo/3, Rainbow six, Haze, Dark sector, - These games that i have posted are by no means bad games but there not good either there fun to pick up with a friend play alittle online have your cool stories about how bad the Havoc engine is when u blow up your friend in Halo3 with the rocket launcher. These games are fun no more no less. None of these games should be held up as are savor because in the end there for casuals.
Good-Gears of war, God of war, Graw, Grand theft auto 4, Fable, Bioshock, R:fall of man, Skate,Cod4,Halo1- These games are different They all added enough spice to make it to good. Geow's
Chainsaw was epic, cool characters, different story kicked ass, duck and cover system that worked flawless but these games are not great. The difference between them is that what these games did they did not do almost perfect( NOTHING IS PERFECT) Goew's Story which was different was not that exicting, cool characters did not make up for the ugly sh!t characters models. GTA4 o you mean GTA:SA but more flashy.
Great-shadow of the colossus, Grand theft auto 3, Kotor, The Orange box (360 pc version),Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Zelda Oot, Counter strike, Metal Gear solid, Killer 7, ico- Where would gaming be without these games where would us Hardcore get are GREAT fixes( not to sound like a junkie sorry) Story telling at its best. Graphics at its most unique . gaming engines that work flawlessly. Boss battles you will remember forever, i don't need to explain much about these games because if you haven't played them i don't care about your casual opinion.
Because games like Grand theft auto 4 get perfect reviews and have more problems then Lair. This is what I Call the hype machine and is disgusting to the hardcore gamers that Love video games and mite need a VALID opinion before buying. Thank you for reading and remember Hardcore gaming will be important again

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.
The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.
Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.
15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.
These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

At first, I didn't like Exite Truck (Wii), but I played it more and I liked it, so when I reviewed it, I gave it an 8.2 because I realized that it really IS that much fun.
I think the problem with scores is that ppl all score differently. Some ppl give a game a 6.5 and still consider that a good game, while someone else can give a game a 8.5 and not think it's that good. I personally consider a good game a 7 or higher and 5.5-6.9 as at least worth a rental. And if I give it a 5.0 or lower, then don't bother with the game
Very good read. A agree completely I'll play almost anything regardless of a what a reviewer says. If I really want to play it at the very least I rent it. I think to many people get all caught up in reviews and just can't seem to want and try them for themselves.
i bought Iron Man first day, even knowing the expected reviews, yes it was a rushed game, but the graphics were good, gameplay was subpar, alot of floating in the sky literally and gently hovering to the left or right avoids those hundreds of missles coming at you...that was a major oversight as a small move either way would miss, cmon, missles aren't that bad at locking on... overall the game had potential but being rushed shat in my face after 13 levels and was done...however I readily enjoyed my playtime with it, i already traded back to GS/EB for some cash on my next game purchase.....
I find it funny that he talks about how much better other games are than Halo while he's complaining about the review process. I mean talk about hypocritical. Halo 2 and 3 are considered great games and although I agree that there are plenty of games out there that are a lot better, the Halo series has been at the top of Xbox Live for a very long time; so there must be something to that. Just because you think it's overrated doesn't make it so. Don't preach about overrated games and then proceed to talk about a game that is clearly very popular as overrated, just because you don't think it's all that great. Not to mention that everyone feels differently about games which is why a lot of people look at metascores and not individual scores from one website. This is all your opinion just like the scores people give out are their opinions. Get off your soap box, just because you don't agree with game scores (and assume you know what the reviewer is thinking) does not mean the score is incorrect or wrong.
