Well, it has been awhile since I really talked about the world in-game, you know, aside from Christmas stuff, so that changes today. Anyway, I have been playing Ryzom and have become very aware that there are many different styles of weaponry in the game. Magic Amplifiers of course are the way that those with a magic proficiency would best be able to exert their energy. The amplifiers really help magic but the attack on them is pretty much nill and there is no ability to wield a shield. There are also your standard bladed weapons like daggers and short to long swords. There are swords like the duelist blade that are one handed and there are two handed swords like the Flaming Sword you receive after the mission where one kills Arken. The two handed weapons tend to cause more damage but one can duel wield with the one-handed weapons or use shields with their one handed weapons. On top of that, one handed weapons are usually lighter and have a faster attack rate. A two handed weapon I have gotten into is the mace. I wield a heavy mace that deals a ton of damage but with a pokey attack rate. I have been able to do some serious damage with this thing. There are other weapon as well. These are meant for longer range. There are Pikes, Spears, and other ranged weapons that work pretty well when you want to keep enemies at a distance. You can also use your hands in combat if disarmed. I have gone pugilist style and beaten up enemies like a brawler. It’s pretty fun to do. Anyway, this is a rundown of the weapons I have available now on Ryzom.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q2 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming business.
Pretty surprising on revenue and content being down. Obviously hardware being down is expected, but you'd think that the GamePass price hike, CoD, and things such horizon 5 coming to PS5 would drive things up. No wonder MS is all-in on the multiplat strategy, don't really have choice at this point. There might be another GP price hike this year.
Wonder how the goalposts will be moved this time, it shifted from exclusives and console sales, to revenue, where now then.
There is no incentive to buy into a closed ecosystem with no exclusives. I wish they would just make windows lite or steam os bootable on the Xbox so long time fans who still own the console can get some enjoyment.
And Microsoft wants to release another super expensive console next gen? Bizzaro world economics over there. Phillip Bartholomew Spencer will be promoted on the strength of these loses. Lol

Koei Tecmo has today released an overview trailer of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE. As part of this, it's announced a few extra things.
Before it launches on the Switch 2 on 12th March, players can expect a demo on 5th March. There are no details about the demo just yet, but it will allow save data to be carried over to the full game.
There will also be a special collaboration with Silent Hill f. This will include a free costume available as DLC.
I really appreciate that almost every game has a demo now before release. I hope Silent Hill F will be next to port on Switch 2.
Silent hill F was ok, its story was a bit nonsensical, and at a lot of points it just throws a heap of enemies at you for what seems like padding, hopefully the DLC will be better
