Recently, Sony has made some rather bold statements involving the staying power their black behemoth.
According to CVG, Sony has not steered away from their original vision for the PS3, stating that it sees sales of the console “far outlasting” that of the PS2. Bold but I like it.
Since launch the PS2 has maintained
strong sales for more than 8 years, no other console has seen this kind
of longevity ever. However, Sony appears very stable in their PS3
approach.
Based on the PS3 hardware and
features most should give the nod that it is very possible. The blu-ray
following is rapidly growing as reports of stand alone players will be
dropping in price to $150 by 2010. It appears blu-ray will eventually
become the standard home movie experience while the Cell processor is
definitely showing its muscle as many upcoming exclusives are making
some rather bold visual and audio statements. Furthermore, downloadable
updates are rather frequent through the robust Playstation Network
offering games, demos, movies, music you name it while Playstation HOME
is a world all it self. With all these features and options Sony makes
a very strong future proof argument.
Regardless many industry
professionals are forecasting the next consoles around 2011 - 2012
timeframe. I believe this is very possible and if history has taught us
anything, Sony knows how to cultivate their consoles staying power
while introducing the latest and greatest.
You make a product that really works and it will last,The games are coming over to the PS3. Now that everyone sees what the PS3 can really do. With only 3 games to mention KZ2 uncharted2 and last but not least GOW3,this games have shown us the future of true gaming and power.... great blog and GO SONY GO
