Gran Turismo 5 AI Beauty Part 2

Hello there fellow Reader. In this blog post I will be continuing my blog on my observations and notes taken while playing the game "Gran Turismo 5" (With the new update coming up, might as well update this.)

Of course for the core details and to update you to current status then please visit my first part of this series. The URL is the one below. Just click it or Copy/Paste.

Ok now it is above hehe. Take your time to read it, the following won't make much sense without the knowledge in Part 1....

OK done reading it? (You sure you read it :P) Well then time to get serious.

Well then going to AI, as in Part 1, I mentioned the AI is not stupid or dumb or tied to some invisible perfect racing line only they can see and they never part from it...yea thats all false what people have said about it. Don't believe me? Like I said also in Part 1, play arcade mode with Pro AI. Getting from 16th to 4th should be easy due to the mistakes they make but try catching up to 2nd and 3rd.

Trust me when I say this, the best way to create a perfect racing line in a track and this goes to ANY TRACK is going up against the Pro AI. Why? Because yea sure they have a good racing line but it is not perfect. In order to beat them, you have to master a perfect racing line in order to catch up to them. Now it ain't easy, so what if you get that perfect racing line, chances favor by the time you stop the gap growing, 1st will be from 15 to 30 seconds ahead of you and the racing line only cuts off around normally 1-3 seconds per lap. Also any mistake and they recover those seconds in a mere instant.

That is one beauty that they have, the Pro AI will force you to master a track in order to beat it. If you do take my advice and challendge it, put at least 15 laps in that race in order to give yourself a chance at beating it. Do not be disapointed if you lose. (Heck Iv come in 2nd quite a few times against it but I had already recovered 17 seconds it had had as a lead.) Even if you do lose, as long as you master a perfect line on the track, the AI has already done more than enough to help you. Easy and Medium AI are a joke to the hardcore but still provide a challenge for those still getting the hang of the game and I encourage taking them on to get used to the driving Sim if you are new.

Note - This only normally applies to normal weather conditions. In rain tracks, while it is raining, the AI will considerable go slower, too slow if you ask me. This isn't a negative comment, once the rain lets up and after a while the water vanishes from the track, the AI will all stop at the pits to switch from Rain tires to w/e normal tires they use, then they go ballistic. (3 lap race in 24H Nurburgring should prove this.)

Ok next observation can be seen both in Arcade and GT Life A-Spec or B-Spec. Since A-Spec is easiest to be able to observe this I shall explain it using that. You will have to be a Lvl 22 in A-Spec or B-Spec and have a very and I mean very fast car. If you meet this requirments, go to the Extreme Series and choose the European Championship. Play in the Autodromo Nazionale Monza and completely leave the AI in the dust. Do your best to over lap them. If you succeed at it, you'l see the AI do something you thought it wouldnt and once again disprove that they are dumb.

THEY GET OUT OF YOUR WAY WHEN YOU OVERLAP THEM!

No really, they move a little to the side when you are gonna overlap them to let you through. Sure in the turns it is hard to see this and you wont see this if you guys are on the same lap, thus proving that they try to block you when you guys duel. In strait ways however, it is easy to notice that the AI moves aside to let you pass, ONLY if you are going to overlap him. (The recommendations to see this I gave you...yea thats how I found out when I was overlapping them.)

If you dont do what I told you to to observe this then just play Arcade mode with Easy AI, alot of laps, and drive a Favorited sup'ed up car so no matter what, you can over power the AI and be able to overlap them. (Then again I havent done this against Easy AI and I don't know if they will react the same so do not blame me if they don't do the same in Easy AI.) Its just a suggestion by mere guess.

Well then, that is it for this part in my observations.
Please if there is anything you would like to add or point out, please feel free to leave a comment. My next blog will tackle the Damage system in Gran Turismo 5 however I also feel that I should do a weather blog. Comment on which you would like to see first.
Well fellow reader, I hoped you enjoyed reading this and I will see you soon on my next blog hopefully!
