PS3 version of GTA4 is the SUPERIOR version

If you are a PS2 owner who has yet to make the leap to NEXT GEN gaming then your wait may be over. GTA4 would be launched worldwide on April 29th, 2008 . Unlike many multiplatform games GTA4 is BEST on PS3 as confirmed by various unbiased sources . So please be cautious while making a purchase decision
Here is what IGN and EGM had to say regarding which version of GTA4 to get: -

PS3 version of GTA4 is confirmed to be superior by IGN and EGM

IGN

http://www.n4g.com/NewsCom-139354.aspx?CT=2

"For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud".

X360 version has FR dips too . more frequent than the PS3 version
"Past GTA titles have had mild-to-serious framerate issues and technical glitches, because the games were trying to do far more than the PlayStation 2 could handle. While GTA IV is pushing the PS3 and 360 to the limit, it also runs amazingly well. Sure, there are framerate hitches here and there and (particularly on 360) there is some texture pop-in, but it actually runs better than I expected. That a game with great AI, an awesome physics engine and a detailed open world runs so well and with such short load times is a technical marvel. For that, I can forgive framerate issues and some noticeable aliasing. "

see for yourself but you'll find the xbox360 superior as the RAGE game engine was developed on the xbox360 and demo'd in Rockstars table tennis .

The PS3 version is simply an emulation with a slight motion blur to soften jaggies consequently it also causes bad trailing too (like seen in ridge racer), especially noticable of a nightime with all those city lights.

Have fun with Sony's Server's during Multiplayer! XBOX Live might be £5 a month but i'd rather pay that and have a fantastic online service and not struggle with bad lagging and finding friends online while gaming.

TradingWarStories6520d ago

@thejackal your a moron, good look not getting RROD on your 360, then waiting another 2 months on getting another xbox, you cant even play 7 hours on it without getting RROD, as that guy got it when he was playing GTA non stop and got RROD haha!

Richdad6520d ago

Both versions do well but if you count GTA4 then count loads of game that are better on 360 than PS3 so you got the answer. Also the graphics are not that much of a improvement only bare minimum (this fact also has been confirmed by critics) and if your TV can do scaling 360 can reduce the aliasing.

toughNAME6520d ago

The PS3 version is graphically superior, but it still is not the better version.

I can't believe on commenting on Nasim's blog...:|

LinuxGuru6520d ago

Thankfully "but it still is not the better version" is just your opinion.

Because most websites and publications disagree with you so far.

Breakfast6520d ago (Edited 6520d ago )

"most websites and publications disagree with you so far."

How do publications disagree with him...tell me. He states the graphics are better on the ps3, too (thats what the publications state as of now). Now that we know that...how bout DLC and Live, how bout the controller, achievements and everything else? Isnt that included on how you judge a game?

Think before you type.

LJWooly6520d ago (Edited 6520d ago )

You can't judge the game on the features of the console, you should judge it in it's own right. Especially if you're paying £40/$50 for those features.

Then again, if you truly, honestly care about which version is better, you are sad, and have failed at life. Maybe you should all think about that before you type. If you're a sad, lonely individual, please keep it to yourself :)

LinuxGuru6520d ago

Breakfast, if you were paying any attention whatsoever I was referring to the part IN QUOTES in my first post there...

I am not disputing the PS3 graphics comment he made, at all... lol

Breakfast6520d ago

lol...the top line was fine. The bottom line were i saw the the problem...

Screw it...im a sad lonely individual, im just gonna keep the rage inside and hope i dont burst :(

Swedish gaming mag Gamereactor said that there are MAJOR DIFFERENCES between the 2 version

http://www.gamereactor.se/r...

Swedish Gamereactor mentioned in their 10/10 review that they were pretty surprised regarding the difference between the PS3 and 360-versions. The PS3-version features better colours, contrast, load times and what looks to be better resolution textures. The game also looks sharper and has a more stable fps.

GAMESRADAR

"Occasional pop-up"

So happy that i own a PS3

GAMESRADAR also confirms that PS3 version is SUPERIOR

"While the PS3 and 360 versions of the game are functionally identical, the PS3's visuals sport noticeably smoother edges, along with a warmer color palette that makes everything look slightly more realistic. If you're looking to compare Accomplishments with your Achievement-hoarding friends, though, forget it - GTA IV ignores these half-assed consolation prizes altogether. PS3 owners also have to put up with a nearly eight-minute installation the first time they start the game, which puts the normally slower Blu-ray load times on par with the Xbox 360 version. (That is, unless it's running on a 360 with no hard drive, which we're told will face much longer loads.)"
