Just a quick background of myself I have been an avid supporter of Socom since I read about it being announced in Playstation Magazine and watching the video about it on their demo disc (if anyone remembers those days anymore). I picked it up on launch day and was imediately hooked, and have played ever since.
Now, after an almost complete failure of a launch, slant six has been hard at work restoring gameplay functioning and even game features. Due to the problems being so bad, they had to even disable some clan features in the game, but I believe that now is the best time to play. Just recently they annouced the future update 1.30 and its features in a fittingly titled "SOCOM State of the Union" blog post on SOCOM.com. Whats to come should be very exciting.
As for the current state of the game and servers even under "rush hour" periods the game is now playing very smoothly (with a very low amount of users still reporting problems). The servers are holding up pretty well the past couple of days I have played and is now become what it has always been. Addicting and fun.
All in all, I think most will agree with me (if not now then later) that the response from Slant Six after the problems and their attention to the intense socom community is by far impressive and i only hope it continues.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
