Saaking's Blog 8: Most Anticipated Games of 2010

So I know a few other people have made their own lists and I just wanted to throw my own out there. 2010 is shaping up to be one of the best years ever. It's packed with games all year round (no summer drought this time) and many of them look amazing. So here are my top 11 most anticipated games of 2010 (in order):

1. The Last Guardian
Developed by the creators of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus (in my opinion, the best game ever). Need I say more?

2. God of War III
God of War is the series that defines the word "epic." Just looking at videos and pictures get's me hyped up. This is THE game to own 2010, and with the cliffhanger God of War II had, the wait is made even harder.

3. Bioshock 2
The first Bioshock  is one my most favorite games of all time. The story, the atmosphere, the graphics, the gameplay. It was all done extremely well. Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to what they do with the second installment.

4. Super Mario Galaxy 2
While Super Mario Galaxy wasn't as fun as Super Mario 64 (in my opinion of course), I enjoyed it immensely and it is, without a doubt, the best 3D platformer this gen and Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks to take the throne from it's predecessor.

5. Gran Turismo 5
the wait is almost over and it WILL pay off. Polyphony Digital's  next installment in the GT series is set to the king of console racing sims (at least until GT6).

6. Halo Reach
As I've said before, I'm a Halo fan that's been disappointed with this gen of Halo games. Halo Reach seems to be shaping up to be what Halo 3 should have been. A true next generation Halo based on an amazing book. What more could you ask for?

7. Heavy Rain
The uniqueness of this game has me really intrigued. I personally have never seen any other game that's attempting what Heavy Rain's devs are trying to do. The game looks thrilling, interesting, and fun.

8. Mass Effect 2
Bioware has apparently fixed all my issues with the first one. Throw in what looks to be a great storyline and solid gameplay and you've got yourself a game full of win.

9. Modnation Racers
I've always loved Mario Kart and I love LittleBigPlanet. A combination of both is just brilliant

10. Alan Wake
Though the game has lost a lot of what made it hyped up in the first place, it still looks like an amazing experience and certainly looks to be one of the 360's best games next year.

11. Splinter Cell Conviction
It's no Metal Gear Solid, but I really like stealth games and previous Splinter Cells have been great. I'm confident this will be another great installment.

So that's pretty much my most anticipated games. There's many more and I could go on listing them, but I think the top 11 are good enough. I'll just say this once more: 2010 is gonna be epic for gamers.

Funny how Saaking's top anticipated games are Playstation Exclusives.

And no, You are not a Halo Fan.

Alan Wake, Brink, Bayonetta, Yakuza 3 & 4 on top of the games that you mentioned.

Nice list though, good reasons too.

Ah, I knew I was missing something. I guess Splinter Cell moves down to 12. Though it underachieved, Fable II was still a lot of fun. I completed it twice and I'm on my third run through. Awesome game.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit37d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing37d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9237d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
