All good things come to those that wait... Thats a phrase we have all heard before once in our lives am I right? Well its a good one and when it comes to video games it can be all that stands between a crappy game and fantastic one.
In my last blog I ranted a bit about Online Retailers and there methods and reasons behind listing inaccurate Release Dates.
This time I want to rant a bit about a over eager and ever more popular practice that devs use that can cause delays o plenty if not full blown cancellations.
I read an article on N4G the other day that talked about bullshots and how the advertising of such magnificent looking screenshots "bull-shots" so early in a games development stage can cause epic disappointment and truly test how great a gamers patience can be while the developer try's to catch up to what they glamored up and flaunted off 3 years back.
And if a gamers patience is anything like there attention spans, there isn't a lot of room for delays before one can lose interest and faith in a developer.
Why do they touch up screenshots?
Well im sure theres more than one answer but the easiest one is that there trying to sell a product... Not only to you the consumer but to a publisher as well.
A great example of what I am rambling about is none other than Digi guy's " in development?" WarDevil game. This game was first shown in 2006 and I will note that there have been many more reason's why this game is still TBA other than them trying to live up to what they've prettied up and shown off in the past.
So just remember that phrase I mentioned in the beginning and take a nice relaxing deep breath and chill, perhaps there is a game coming out this month that can help make the wait less rage provoking and more tolerable.... Unfortunately that game wont be RAGE BECAUSE THEY FREAKING DELAYED IT ALL THE WAY AROUND THE BLOODY CALENDER!!!

It pisses me off when they announce games too early.

Doom 4
