Ok, I promise this is one, if not the last MGS4 blogs that I right. I just have to get something off my chest before I go on to other things. Many people are complaining about the long cut scenes, and the amount of “silly” things going on in the game. I have to say, that if you are a fan of the Metal Gear Solid universe, then you WANT long cut scenes, you WANT “silly” things in the game. That’s what makes Metal Gear Solid what it is, and epic saga of emotions and brilliant art. Another thing is, why are you getting the last game in the saga if you’re not a MGS fan, and THEN complaining about it. You have no right, NONE. If MGS4 is the first Metal Gear Solid game that you have ever played, then you automatically lose your right to complain, and nit-pick about certain things in this game. Reviewers are making up the simplest things, and dropping the ratings on the game because of it. One thing that just blows my mind is people complaining about Snakes “Floating Head” in act one. Please… no… stop… don’t tell me that you can look past the fact that Master Chiefs armor is over 1,000 pounds, but you can’t get past the fact that when snake is in full camo, his head is still there. Nit picking at its up most finest. I’m not dissing Halo, so please don’t try to say I’m a fan boy and flame me. I’m just saying most of these reviewers aren’t even a fan of the MGS world, yet there still reviewing them. Call this a rant if you want, but I respect your guys opinions enough to share this with you, and I just wanted to blow some steam… buuut I guess I’m done, see you guys next blog.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
It's simple: Kojima's writing and directing are incredibly muddled by videogame standards, and are a complete trainwreck by cinematic standards. This coming from someone who has played all the games in the series and genuinely liked them all. But at this point many, games have pushed the envelope in terms of marrying quality narrative and gameplay together.
MGS4 is stuck ten years in the past and is thoroughly shackled by Kojima's inability to realize his vision concisely.
im gonna have to agree with you my friend... if you really are playing all the metal gears then you will know that this is one incredible story, better than any dvd i have ever rented or owned, even my girlfriend loves watching it cause it is an incredible tale, i had to explain to her what was going on in the past and it makes me sound like an uber geek (yes i said uber) but then i started thinking as i was explaining it, "this is absolute genius!" If people are looking for a game that is just all gameplay and no show go play the wii and get yourself some boom blox thats what i bought one for, People hating on metal gear because of long cut scenes are either uneducated with the storyline, or are just too stupid to understand what is going on. Personally what i think it is, is these reviewers are biased towards their 360 in knowing, a)its never coming to the xbox, b) Playstation has a exclusive that scored better all around then any of there 360 games... Good rant!
"Also im kinda picky like this but using a knife and a pistol leads to bad trigger discipline and overall bad marksmanship..."
I know you are just being picky but the reason Snake uses a gun in one hand and a knife in the other is because of CQC. When he holds his weapons the way he does he is able to focus one more than one target at VERY close range. When he is up against a long distance target he uses just a single gun.
I will have to somewhat agree with you...long cut sceens are expected in a MGS game, and are really great when they are done well. I perosnaly feel that the first MGS is one of the top 5 greatest games ever made...
With that said....I have a really hard time playing the sneaking portion of MGS4...domt get me wrong...the octocamo works and is well executed...but after playing the hell out of Chaos Theory, the sneaking in MGS4 feels a little unfinished and unrefined...The action part of the game is top notch and much more fun than GOW or Halo...though I really dont understand how the sneaking aspect can be so behind Splinter Cell here...Other than that, this is THE reason to own a PS3 at the moment....I havent even turned on my 360 or PC since this game came out...
but it's "utmost" not "up most". Also, it's "they're" not there, "write" not "right". If you want to be taken seriously on your blogs, you have to make sense. I'm just nit picking your blog, not the game. I love the game.
