Start/Select: What would you want from a Resident Evil 5 Collectors edition?

If you haven’t already booked the day off, Friday 13th March is the day the world will finally get its hands on long awaited Resident Evil 5 for the 360 and PS3. Capcom have announced that shipping with the game will be a collector’s edition available on the same date, which is kick ass. Question is what is going to be in this glorious edition you may ask? Well no one knows yet, but what would you like to see in the Resident Evil 5 collector’s edition?

I’m not too good with USD because here in the UK its a whole different currency but I believe a game goes for around $59.99 at retail, at least for a new title. The collectors edition will push you to $89.99 so if your paying an extra $30 you’d better hope your getting something good for your money. Something more than just an art book or a making of DVD, extra content? Maybe but I don’t think Capcom would be that mean to its consumers.

I reckon it might come with a Resident Evil custom headset kind of like what Konami did by making a MGS4 headset at the launch of Metal Gear Solid 4 considering a huge majority of the game can be played online. But since most 360 users probably already have a headset, it might have to be a ps3 exclusive.

Perhaps like with Resident Evil 4 they’ll produce a controller based off a weapon from the game like Resident Evil 4’s chainsaw released on the Gamecube and PS2. I don’t know what they’d choose to make it from, I doubt they’d make another chainsaw controller but they can’t exactly make one from the giant axe seen in the latest trailers can they?

Looking at recent bundles Alone in the Dark managed to make a huge amount of treasure in its collectors edition but that depended on whether you wanted figures, soundtracks and art books, I hope Capcom look more to what Bethesda did with their Fallout 3 collectors edition, I’m not asking for a Resident Evil 5 lunchbox but I’m look for some creativity.

But what do you think will be in the box? What would validate that $89.99 price mark for you?

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
