Why wont Microsoft just make great games instead of being in the business stealing exclusive games from PlayStation Brand?
Nintendo and Sony has been slugging it out for years and decades
yet none of them are known for 'game exclusive swiping' the way Microsoft does.
Instead they go the honorable way between Japanese enemies - make their own AAA exclusive games after the other. Answer a great game with an even greater game!
Before it was all about making great games and not who has the bigger wallet.
For example, Square took their Final Fantasy VII franchise from Nintendo to Sony PlayStation out of gaming reasons not money. They wanted a bigger, better, state-of-the-art, ground breaking game that will change console gaming history and propel it to mainstream cultural popularity. It just so happens Sony had the compact disc which will store more game data, cheaper to produce and publish.
Did Final Fantasy fans complained about this move? Was there an uproar or outrage like the FF XIII incident? They knew that move was for the better!
But How did Nintendo responded they made The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time RPG also in 3-D.
Sony and Nintendo are in the business of making games not stealing games. The honorable way between Japanese is to answer a game for a game not bribery.
SEGA never stole any exclusive games from Nintendo nor Sony because they know stealing is dishonorable. They stuck to their own franchises and own identity. They invest on many development studios that produced well loved games like Virtua Fighter, Shen Mue, Sonic the Hedgehog, Bare Knuckle, Outrun, After Burner, etc. Games that push the envelope.
Microsoft you let the software developers make that decision - freely with out bribery. Heh, the Sega Saturn was so popular in Japan Enix considered making the next 32-bit Dragon's Quest for it, for crying out loud!
Microsoft you force your way in the gaming industry by money not games. If you are a true gaming company you will invest to make more better games for a better, healthier console industry.
You have more money and resources than Nintendo & Sony could ever have yet you cannot make games aside from Halo and Fable? What is your excuse?
Why are your once exclusive second party developers like Bungie and Epic, leaving you? Why?
Don't you have the more installed base than the PS3?
I don't know Microsoft's master plan for console gaming industry but their actions are symptoms that points to something not very good. The video game industry is heading the Hollywood route because of your dirty politics.
Works of Art are watered down to become multi-platform Works of Crap so they can shove it to your aging console. Stop this. You are arresting the development of progress in console gaming.
The only right thing to do is to make more good games YOURSELF Microsoft and stop STEALING because if you answer an exclusive with an even better exclusive game not only will you win but it will also be a win for console gaming industry.
So all in all and most of all we have another great game to play and be happy about so us gamers ultimately win!
Note: I had to flesh out the body so it will be approved. Thanks to all for reading.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
Short and simple. I like it.
Because they haven't any good ideas themself lol
Hmm, Microsoft is a company I thought? Just like Sony and Nintendo...It's the business world. Get over it. (:
Sony owns a lot of the best studios in the world right now. I once wrote a blog on here that said that Microsoft always has one foot out the door with every market they get into. They're just not willing to make the full commitment and buy a lot of studios like Sony has.
That's why Microsoft is always the Number 2 guy in so many markets. They prefer having their hands in everything but not getting in so deep that they have to shift their focus to it entirely.
It's easier to pay off independent publishers for timed exclusives than to own and maintain their own developers. You'd have to look at it from Microsoft's point of view. Check their own financial stats and see if they're making profit from their third party partnerships. If they are, then that's probably why they're not bothering to buy any studios. And if they're not profitable, then they're probably afraid to commit even further to the gaming industry.
We always hear how Microsoft is leading the PS3. Well...it seems like Microsoft have run out of steam. Halo Reach...Gears of War 3...Crackdown 2...I guess those weren't good enough to keep their precious lead.
If Microsoft is as good as they think they are, they should be pushing their own studios to create a variety of games and trying to keep their console from being pigeon-holed.
The Dora the Explorer title is hilarious. My kids watch all the time and that's exactly what Microsoft does...they swipe since they can't create. To me, that only makes them look desperate and their library only buttresses that reasoning.
One's thoughts or beliefs don't have to be a paragraph or longer. There's no restrictions on diction. This person made his/her point quickly and with a great sense of humor...somewhat similar to a cartoonist.
