Comparison shopping

All these comparisons between said game played on the PS4 and an ultra pc is very telling. It may be concluded that the overall better game graphically comes from the pc but just the mere fact that the comparisons are only being conducted from one console to the pc it can be said that the PS4 capability, not to mention at the consoles infancy, is that much higher that that of the competitors.

That fact may change in the future, more specifically when XBox implements the cloud. Microsoft has been touting that at full cloud implementation, not only will those benchmarks graphically be achieved-1080p and 60 fps-that will show the value of Microsoft's machine.

Being that Microsoft's box is admittedly at its early stages of it's life cycle those benchmarks can conceivably be achieved. But is it also the perception that given the fact that this benchmark is already achievable on the PS4 that Sony's machine capability is already tapped out?

It would be stupid to think that either machine has built and engineered a device to reach that of a competitor and just remain content once that plateau is reached, especially a few months into a 7-10 year life expectancy.

If the cloud ends up being this amazing thing that can truly generate graphics gar beyond the limitations of the xbox one hardware then I have one question,

Why did microsoft bother to build the xbox one at all? Surely the 360 can also benefit from the cloud in the same way, so getting next gen graphics on a last gen system should be possible if the cloud works the way many believe it does.

Pc gamers will also benefit from microsofts cloud and if it makes hardware obsolete then the pc gaming market is going to change in a big way.... imagine not needing a super high powered ultra end graphics card to play games with bleeding edge graphics.

If the cloud can work this way then it will put an end to the hardware side of the games industry, which for them will be a sad thing.

Big if though.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit41d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9241d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
