Who likes dusting?

It seems the favorite phrase for most 360 and PS3 fans are that their Wii's are gathering dust.  Well during these fine few weeks all my consoles have been gather dust.  Well I suppose my HD-DVD add on has been on playing some fun anime's and what-not.  Playing games however, not so much.

Hmm now I know what you're asking how in good graciousness can I call myself a gamer and not play any games!?  Well the answer my friend is blowing in the wind... (hmmm got to turn off my music).  No it's not that I have abandoned my love of gaming it's a much easier answer.  Handheld glory :)

Some people seem to think that the only way one can play handhelds if they are sitting on a bus or traveling on a plane.  This is just a silly concept that I can't really wrap my mind around.  Handholds are a great way to play games while still enjoying a good movie, TV show, sitting in front of a window listening to cars drive by, and even sitting outside.  There is a plethora of games for each the handhelds that offer a wide variety of types that can't be found on a console unless you go back 2 or more generations.  Who likes to do that?

Right now I'm sitting pretty with Zelda and Tactics as my main guns and I'm watching 12 Kingdoms, Lost, House, and a bunch of movies.  Sure you'll still see me online once or twice in-game but right now the focus is handhelds.  I'm looking forward to the piano black psp slim for I hear it's faster and lighter and well better.  Tactics on the psp phat seems to have slow down on all fronts so gets to be a bit annoying but still highly enjoyable.  Zelda mixes good dungeon crawling and full stylist control for a very positive gaming session.

Besides having games that are tributes to classic consoles it also has many games that cannot be found on a gaming console.  Those quick but fun puzzles, brain teasers, and the strange and quirky other genre.  I'm do like how the PSN and XBLA and soon WiiWare are somewhat offering these type of games to consoles but the true home for these are handhelds.  Now for Sega to re-make the Game Gear and put out some cool games for it.  Ah if only...

All in all I feel handhelds are a great way to still enjoy a game but seeing that the fall season is running the shows and more and more movies keep coming out it's hard to still get in time to play console games that require the TV to play them.  At least with handhelds you get a wealth of gaming goodness in the palm of your hand and can still be out and about or watch your show you've been dying to see.

Capcom Says Pragmata Sold 1 Million Copies in 2 Days

Pragmata has sold 1 million copies in two days, Capcom has announced.

asad1977h ago

Capcom is the best developer of all time. Consistent hit over many years .

DivineHand1257h ago

I didn't know it came out last Friday, or I would have bought the game. I will try again for this upcoming weekend.

Im really digging it. It reminds me of games from the PS2 era, not visually or how it plays, but like the spirit of it. If you were around for that golden age of gaming, you’ll get what I mean when you play this.

LucasRuinedChildhood5h ago

Have you tried Kanitsu-Gami: Path Of The Goddess (also Capcom)? That feels like a PS2-era Capcom game.

The_Hooligan5h ago

Agreed! The art style is amazing in that game. I bought it immediately after I played the demo but haven't started it lol

I want a physical copy of that game sooo bad. It seems like it won’t happen and I may have to use some of my Xmas PS gift cards I always get this winter but I’m still holding out with very little hope.

robtion2h ago

I know what you mean. I think it really feels like Vanquish, with some Dead Space and Binary Domain thrown in. So maybe more PS3 era but yes it is great.

The next thing I'm mine when I've had my fill of crimson desert. A nice linear action game to contrast the open ended 😗👌

CD is so big I’ll play it all year and squeeze shorter games inbetween

jznrpg5h ago

I preordered it long ago. Going to start it later this evening

solideagle, maybe the article is wrong but it mentions BG3 as the other.

CrimsonWing696h ago

It’s good, but I’m getting tired of seeing how overrated it’s getting.

andy855h ago

It just wasn't for you in that way i guess. Can't really argue with it when it wins all the awards and it's the highest rating by players of all time

I thought this game was a load of rubbish. Trying too hard to be art(sy) by people who don’t really understand art but want to make it look like they do. Found it obvious and shallow and just not a fun game. Just seemed like every relentless second they were clutching at trying to feed this superior narrative… the irony being that’s kind of what I’m doing now… maybe that’s art imitating art….

Didn't know the Golden Joystick fan votum was considered one of the "major awards"?

I always thought it's "only" the Big Four - VGA, Bafta, GDC and DICE.

Nonetheless, congrats to Clair Obscur!
