Is the Hardcore killing the Industry?

Now with saying this I do not mean the hardcore of owning every system and playing every game.  I mean the hardcore of the one console elitists who's only ambition is seeing the other console burn into the fiery abyss of failure.  Those are the hardcore in question.

First of all I don't believe one can be called a gamer if they wish a gaming company to no longer exist for that means less gaming for you.  Having one console also skews ones opinion to the fact of not wanting to hear a positive about a game you cannot play.  Along with the fact of flat out demanding any game exclusive to one console to be 'ported' to your system of choice.  Finally, having to call yourself hardcore in itself is a bit of a narcissist mentality that has been brought with the new generation of gamers that feel they are special and if someone wants different then them then they are the morons for not wanting what they do.

One point is they feel they know better than the developer and publisher combined.  If I see one more petition I'm going to have to find someone to punch.  Trust the team assigned to said projects to make it the best way possible.  If they want your feedback they'll send out a e-mail or survey for you not the other way around.

The remarks are naturally another concern from the hardcore.  This need to belittle new gamers seem a bit far to go seeing that, after all, we were all noobs to start off with.  The ability to welcome these new gamers can only mean more money to developers and publishers and with that money they can therefore give us 'longtime' gamers the games we want.  Games we want without the need of a petition mind you.

Negative publicity is another fact.  We will never get past the 'systems' view of us gamers when those marked 'hardcore' always talk like they are ignorant tools.  You know the perception, no life, lives in basement, anti social, and all around bad person.

One must take gaming as a whole as a good idea not just one area.  If you close down doors then all creativity ends.  I for one wouldn't like it if we only had one system to rule them all.  We all know how stagnant Madden has been seeing that it was the one and only football game around.  Image what would happen if only one system that geared itself towards the 'I want blood and gore' people.

The hardcore need the casual just as much as the console makers (Microsoft, Sony, & Nintendo) need the hardcore.  Money makes the world go around and as the hardcore is the minority we need casuals to give the makers their money to make games that the hardcore want.

So lets take it all in stride and stop telling the developers, publishers, and console makers how to do their job and lets talk about the games and the games we play.  Thank you for reading and I'm thinking of making this a norm it's kind of fun so any topics or games you want me to review I'm all ears.  Any system or retro games are allowed ^^  peace and hair grease.  Keep it tame down there as well.

Nice post dude. I personally am not fortunate enough to own all the consoles but I am not the type of person to go dissing the consoles I don't have, nor do I wish failure upon them or their manufacturers. Competition is good for any industry. Unfortunately, much of the gaming demographic consists of kids and teens that take the competition too seriously because they have not matured mentally. This I think is why fanboyism is so much more rampant in the gaming industry than in others. The reputation of gamers as a whole suffers as a result.

I wouldn't call the people you are referring to as "hardcore". Most of the people who bash a certain system just pretend their age, go on forums, try to act mature, and ruin everyones day.

Public Eye Creators Wolf Games Are Switching To AI-Generated Gaming

When Wolf Games unveiled its debut title Public Eye, the announcement felt less like a routine game launch and more like a signal flare for the future of

ApexLanding232h ago

I will never purchase an AI generated game, I will not contribute to something that takes away artistic human expression and creation in gaming. I'm not one of those people who says, "I hope this fails" like so many often do about everything gaming these days but on this one I have to. AI has it's place, just not here.

That’s It, I’m Calling It, Xbox Is Dead, Time Of Death February 20

If you read Kotaku even semi-regularly, you already know that Xbox has been in a weird spot for some time now. And with today’s news that both Xbox boss Phil Spencer and President Sarah Bond are leaving and the new head of the brand will be a former Meta exec who previously lead Microsoft’s AI division, I think it’s time to call it. Xbox is dead. Time of death: February 20, 2026

God! Xbox dead again! Boring! Boring. Heard it all before.

While I normally agree... The future of xbox is on shaky ground. Well, xbox as we know it. Im not sure what they are shooting for but who they put in charge mixed with Phil retiring and bond just flat out leaving. It's not looking good.

Levii_924h ago

Oh come on, Xbox has been dead for at least 10 years now. I think what’s more important right now is Playstation’s death that is very slowly but surely happening through mismanagement and greed.

InUrFoxHole3h ago

Some what agree. Sony is in a better position to unf#$k themselves. Xbox isn't.

ocelot072h ago

I actually agree sooner Hust is gone the better.

Delusional take, why do xbots always project Xbox’s problems onto PlayStation?

This is why the views and comments are low, with lame articles that use divide-and-conquer pretensions.
