Why does everyone hate Sony - Move edition

Damn this website is maddening at times.  I want to start my own web site so that people with real opinions and better abilities to have open conversations about points of views can interact in stead of a pi..ing match.

Now people are saying that Move is ripping off wii don't get me wrong it is a very similar product with very similar games but the ps3 version has way more piratical uses.  So if they can do it better then them before Nintendo decides to get off their buts and improve a toyish product then all the power to them... sorry Nintendo the wii-plus didn't do it.

I'm sorry flicking a wrist to knock someone out or do any of the wii games is possible and equally sucks as the more power or more effort I put it rewards me with 0 more value when playing the games.

As a gamer and even my wife who is not this adds value.  I still as of yet have to get more value out of my wii before I will feel I got my monies worth.  My PS3 in comparison has given both my wife and I FAR more entertainment value for the additional dollars I spent.  To me this will only increase that value for the extra cost.  Also I think it will further more increase the value my family will get.

I've been gaming since before colecovision and have never been a fan of accessories wheels, flight sticks etc have never really done it for me.

Yes wii started the "move"ment but PS3 might just be bringing it a lot further.  So "wiimove" it out of the way... sorry bad pun but whatever :^)

I think I will have to get my own website going as putting this stuff in the blog doesn't seem to get it viewed but again like the last one let me know what you think.  I'm just a gamer with an opinion.  Please make it constructive and hopefully thought provoking.  I hate cop out comments that just look to stir and not inspire.

SONY is taking a piece of technology (from this gen albeit) and making it better. There's nothing wrong with that.

Will SONY fanboys now apply this thought to NATAL? lol, don't count on it.

The only difference is...Move has all been done before. Most people didn't even know what a PSeye was until NATAL came along.

Pocketaces1115830d ago

I agree with those statements except even if people didn't know because Sony did poor marketing it doesn't make Natal any less of a new PS-eye and in my opinion so far I have not seen much innovation out of it. Where Move is almost a hybrid of Natal and Wii that originated with PS3 eye technology which was 1st of all these. I will not bash Natal until they make a similar presentation. Too me though I see far more value out of a controller based system then a non controller

The media doesnt hate Sony. Its just that Sony fanboys do not tolerate any form of criticism whatsoever towards Sony.

IGN give GOW3 a 9.3 and they are convinced that IGN hates Sony...

And as for the Move. PS3 owners call Natal an eyetoy rip off though its cleary A LOT more advanced. And now you are complaining that people are calling the Move a Wii rip off ??

The Move is way more similar to the Wii than Natal is to the eyetoy concerning the look, concept, possibilities, use etc etc.

You see the media is just acting the way PS3 fanboys acted with Natal.
Nothing unfair right there.

Again what I ask for here is intelligent conversation. All you're comments you just made were statements. If you are going to say you think natal is a lot more advanced then eye then tell me why you think that and let's see some proof. Although I wasn't really knocking natal yet as I'm waiting till E3 to see what it can do for real now hopefully and not just recorded demo's. As far as I'm concerned the live part of e3 just showed stuff that the eye could already do. Also again I really don't see as much practical uses of Natal without buttons and the only return comments I ever get on that comment is fanboy rubbish

Gaming companies these days want people to move their arse and play with interactive toys: wheels, Wiis and etc...
I would help you build and maintain the website, but I ain't paying.
Oh, please work on your grammar too, I could be in charge of that on your site :P

English classes were the bane of my existence so touche. My job unfortunately keeps me way too busy so the website thing is kind of a pipe dream. Especially since it would take too much time and make me very little money unless it became a hit. Which we know what the chances of that are nowadays.

Thanks for the comments though

I need more bubbles.
@Venomous

really I find that kind of week myself since Microsoft has also put the start select in the same spot where else are they supposed to do it. How else would they make the controllers. dual shock was not even mentioned. PS eye was new alright not well implemented but new. They all have their new stuff. I'm a huge Nintendo fan back in the day and the wii motes were neat for a few min but really in my opinion very useless for gaming. I flick my wrist and get a strike every time that's not gaming.

This might be a little over the top but hear me out. I almost feel as screwed by Nintendo as I did by xbox and the RROD. hold on the fit till you read the rest. IMO I truly believe xbox new that their product was flawed but because of money they released it early so they can beat people to the market then after too long finally admitted their mistake but their install base was already up their and so people felt they had to buy another xbox or get it fixed because they had to protect their bad investment. Nintendo new the remotes were not very functional but again played their client base (and it worked) got lot's of sales and now have to create the wii-plus oh more money for Nintendo. Wii fit same thing the software was crap the product was neat and cool but you had to spend 30seconds to 1 min between ever move here comes wii plus. They should just call every upgrade the wii band aid. Unfortunately for Sony they tried the eye and didn't support it enough and that in a way is the same thing as the other companies but at least less clients wasted their money on it like the last two examples. Also at least now they are making it functional and breathing new life into it with added functionality... yes with a new peripheral but I think it will be fun.

This year will be an interesting one. Yes I hope my PS3 investment returns even more value to me. I would like my wii to do that to but I think in order for that to happen I will have to buy a Wii-plus/ HD band aid and I'm not sure I will be able to do that. x-box well my bodies have bought enough of those. Maybe you will label me a fan boy but I just don't have time. If someone want's me to make a gaming website guarantee me to make the same money I'm making at my job then I will buy all the systems try all the systems and maybe become less biased until then I'm having a blast on my PS3 and no I don't know what I'm missing :) Well I do would like to play mass effect. Halo though I can live without tried it not that big on it. If it came out on PS3 as a big package with all of them I might get it and see what the hype is about when I could actually play threw it and not just get a small taste at my bodies place.

@qulityph ... huh link doesn't work and don't know what you're trying to say

"Now people are saying that Move is ripping off wii..."

Nintendo has been making these playful jabs (via Reggie Fil-Aimes) at Sony for making Move so similar to the Wii-mote, but as far as I know, I haven't seen a single Wii fan actually calling out Sony for "ripping off" the Wii-mote. Maybe on some other sites, but I haven't seen the same on N4G. It's mostly used as an argument to further Natal's cause, since it's controller-less and hence considered unique (not so much original in it's own right) in comparison to the Move.

It's better to wait and actually try it out to see what it's capable of, but Sony can take a cue from Nintendo in one respect: Their DS. When the DS's touch screen was announced, no one fathomed what kind of games we'd see on the system and whether said games would go beyond the simple gimmicks of touch-screen functionality. Sony should create games that take advantage of a true motion controller, replicating the laws of physics and real world scenarios insomuch as possible. I'd love to see a Move scheme where in the actual strength of my swings determines the power with which my sword will kill an enemy - and not simply dependent on the "flick of a wrist" motion of most Wii games.

I honestly cannot imagine what Move would be capable of but that's just it - if Sony can do that, create something I couldn't imagine but which just feels right and fun to play, then they're definitely on the route to success, whether the "casuals" on the Wii go for it or not.
