I don't know if this will see the light of day and before people start criticizing my journalism or whatever I have no formal training just irritated for the last time in people's reactions to things and thought I would voice my opinion. I think this is a worthy opinion please let me know if you do too.
We seem to be going ape that we can't use our phat ps3 and criticizing Sony to no end because of this. These systems have been getting more and more sophisticated and also more and more popular so because of this #'s game things are going to happen. You will loose some valued gaming time. everyone criticizing them for this and threatening to buy x-box Battlefield should give you're head a shake this has happened to Microsoft to and for a longer period of time then this hopefully will be.
This a peice of equipment with 1's & 0's all over the place things are bound to happen and it's never a good time.
I would like to ask of the people complaining if they missed a meal because they or their family could not afford it. Do they have clean water to drink and a place to live. Do they have an earthquake devastating their city. If the answers to all these questions is yes except the earthquake one (almost missed that :) then I don't think you should be so angry with sony for disrupting you're gaming when I think it's obvious they did not mean to do it. I'm not an x-box fan but do you think either of them mean for their service to go down for any length of time.
If you are so addicted to gaming that you're life is ruined by this then you need to get you're self checked into an asylum because you might be the next article on person kills someone over xbox or ps3 game.
Hope you enjoyed my 1st post I would really like to ask that only constructive comments be made if possible but I'm not going to hold my breath.
Thanks for reading.

A breath of fresh air. A nicely written blog submission.
Okay. I'll be honest. It was the case that something I've become very attached to, I spent a lot on, can't afford again wouldn't work because of a simple stupid clock glitch that even happened when offline that was Sony's fault. I wasn't panicked about PSN going down, happens a lot, usually gets sorted in a matter of hours.
It is not because I couldn't game for 24 hours, it's because all day from 8am, it was UNCERTAIN IF IT WOULD WORK AGAIN and not because of me. Because I'm the guy that turns off the actual plug, not the back of the system and packs it away back in it's thin polystyrene packaging veil it came in the box with when I go on another console. I update the firmware after I hear reports of it, just to be safe. It wasn't a normal hardware failure of something wearing out either, it was something that Sony had done, admitted a mistake, they kept quiet about wherever my original fat bought in 2007, rare EU PS2 emulating £425 machine I've bought about 20 digital games, about 23 Bluray games and a PSeye for and I felt betrayed that Sony couldn't explain what was going on, because they didn't seem to know and heck, even the UK retailers GAME weren't informed because they scarily stopped trading in the affected models.
I'm glad everything works again, I still have my 20 odd digital games which all either didn't work or reverted to timed trial demos and I couldn't care less about my trophies, although it is an annoyance I lost some Resistance 2 ones which was the last game I played with the glitch. But it shouldn't of happened anyway.
It does make me wonder what Sony would have done if it never got fixed. High possibility, I might still have my warranty, but they would have to do this free repair to everyone in the world and the digital games, which might of been impossible and suicidal for a company. I would of certainly turned away from any early purchases of future Sony machines. I'm still worried by the date error occuring again and hope that Sony make a fix that somehow stops this clash between the software and hardware clock. My suggestion?
DISABLE THE HARDWARE CLOCK.
Good for you man, well written
