Enough! with the multitasking copy/paste complaints

These days I’m having a hard time figuring out why multitasking and copy and paste are being called core features, last time i checked core features are actually being used. Countless research has proven that most smartphone owners barley use copy/paste and multitasking, 90% of users only use 10% of feature and the stats for copy/paste, multitasking are even lower.

Recently Windows Phone 7 has been the latest target of the copy/paste crusade, since Microsoft revealed the new operating system at the Mix Conference its been the main issue of whats “wrong” with the OS. Infoworld click-bait master and iPhone fanboy Galen Gruman went so far as to say that WP7 is DOA because of no multitasking and Copy/Paste.

It does not support multitasking except for Microsoft’s own first-party apps, It doesn’t support copy and paste. Here again Apple was a much-criticized laggard, supporting the capability only in summer 2009. Windows Phone 7 is a waste of time and money. It’s a platform that no carrier, device maker, developer, or user should bother with. Microsoft should kill it before it ships and admit that it’s out of the mobile game for good. It is supposed to ship around Christmas 2010, but anyone who gets one will prefer a lump of coal. I really mean that.

The iPhone didn’t need copy/paste to be a success and WP7 is no exception, to me this whole thing is a non-issue. Microsoft isn’t new to the mobile business and they know what there doing. I know that’s hard to swallow with recent events like the KIN debacle but that a whole different story which i explained on another post.

Microsoft is doing all the right moves, why add a feature no one really uses?, and if it’s that much of a big deal Microsoft developers can always add it on a later update. This is a clear case of a select few people who will never buy a WP7 device buts enjoys the attention they get by making a huge deal out of nothing.
