You're ruining Metal Gear Solid 5 for me, Konami.

Metal Gear Solid has been my all time favorite franchise. It has a charm that bends realistic historical events with fantasy super powered beings. It makes you think beyond it's convoluted yet intelligent plot by touching real world issues that drives the narrative. Also, not to forget about the addictive and fun stealth gameplay the series offers especially in a time where you don't see many like it.

With all that said, Konami has been pissing me off to the point where I feel a little dirty for having such great interest in the upcoming game. Now, I have no clue if Kojima or Konami was behind some of the in game changes like regenerating health, that garbage slo mo feature, splitting GZ and PP into two games, and not reprising Hayter's role as Big Boss (I believe this was Kojima). These are just a few of the major changes that has impacted Metal Gear Solid V. I can live with these changes however just as long as the game delivers the same feel and enjoyment you get out of a Metal Gear game. I trust Kojima.

Now Konami has been extremely silent and shady with the handling of the break up with their most prominent developer/studio by removing Kojima's name from titles/box art, canning Silent Hills, adding micro transactions, and who know what future garbage lies in store. And although I've read Kojima and Co. will continue to support the game after it's release, you have to wonder to what extent.

This isn't the same company that gave us classics like Castlevania, Contra, Silent Hill, Zone of Enders, TMNT games and many more. This has become a company that is so disconnected with not only their workers, but their fans, and in the end their greedy eyes will be the down fall of what once was a prominent video game company.

As I said, I trust Kojima but I am perplexed because I don't trust Konami at this point. For them to get rid of the biggest name in the company leaving the series and this game in limbo doesn't sit well with me. I almost want to cancel my collectors edition/resell it because Konami looks as if they are ran by a bunch of lunatics, but at the same time I want to support Kojima's last MGS game. In the end I'm still purchasing it, but I don't like feeling like an idiot.

forget about all the drama between the two parties. it's not our job to pick sides. it's our job to find out whether or not the game is worth the value, that's it. why people purposely get caught up in all of the gossip is beyond me. i think it's a mistake konami is changing directions but they will do what they think they have to remain viable and profitable. but until they decide to leave modern gaming completely and go make mobile games i suggest you enjoy the games while you can.

I agree with what you said but you missed the point

kojima was still involved in the making of mgs5. which means like i said above you have to value it based on the games release, not what konami's plans are in the future. so why feel like an idiot (your words not mine) just because konami are being idiots?

I think it's quite obvious every company is in it to make money, but that doesn't mean you go to extremes to disconnect your company from your existing loyal fanbase to cater to the new age of mobile games and micro transactions.

Why can't they do both, why must they slowly eliminate what was successful?

This "change" is what caused Zipper to go down. They basically started the online shooters on consoles with Socom and they completely destroyed it trying to go in a new direction to cater to where the money was at and no one bought into it.

It's not our job to do their job, but it is their job to make sure they provide us the best experience as we are the ones making them money.

we would love all companies to give us what we want but it's easier said than done. i have no idea why konami feels they want to alienate console gaming but to ignore mgs5 because of their future business decisions doesn't make much sense to me if you were anticipating this game before they announced their new direction.

don't get me started on zipper! great example with them. they lost touch what made them successful and tried to go the CoD route.
