Gran Turismo Sport JRPG, Hideo Kojima new Game

Gran Turismo Sport Looks Great, imagine the game as AAA JRPG. It's Awesome!

Hideo Kojima Want to Release His New PS4 Game "As Soon as Possible;" Will Use a Third Party Engine, thus Grand Turismo Sport Engine would be a great choice. Reason why Grand Turismo Sport Engine is better than Naughty Dog engine for Japanese are simply because it is in Japanese. PS4 already 2 years, both Unreal 4, Unity 5 face difficulty being adopt by Japanese Game Developers, simply because they have hard time understanding it. By using Grand Turismo Sport Engine not only SONY able to improve Grand Turismo, but expand SONY game development capacity into various gaming genre, especially console JRPGs.

GRAPHICS
Feel the Light in the Graphics
Car Modeling

The game and rendering engines from the original Gran Turismo have evolved to another level, one that will allow the user to “feel the rich lighting” of the graphics. If you study the car modeling carefully, you’ll notice that Gran Turismo’s quality goes so far as to measure the brightness of the car’s lights. We’ve also analyzed the paint layer structure with samples of real body paint to get the right hues, and even recreate the stitching of the fabric in the seats, all in order to reproduce the true character of a car.

Landscape

Huge strides have also been made in landscape expressions. See each and every leaf on a tree as it sways in the wind. Weather, time, and the age of the tree are considered when reproducing it in the game, right down to its bark. Even the asphalt possesses unique characters, regarding its size, grain and distribution of the asphalt surface. Thanks to advanced data capturing and the perceptional talents of the artists, Gran Turismo approaches landscape reproduction from every aspect.

While you may not notice the level of detail in the cars and tracks while driving in normal gameplay, you will see it in replays and in Photo mode where you can study the images up close.

Someone please help me write this blog. Thanks.

Thats nice. Didnt know that japonese studios got problems with engines.

cabbitwithscissors3529d ago

Probably due to documentation available translations in Japanese and not due to their capabilities in using other engines.

Seems more like a favoritism thing than anything else. I dunno the GT engine is nothing compared to the UC4 engine IMO...

Kingdom Hearts 3 takes ~4 years to develop on the "Easy-to-Use" Unreal Engine 4. Is Hideo Kojima definition of "As Soon as Possible" ~4 years? Probably not. 2020 release date for Hideo Kojima new game? Polyphony Digital supporting Hideo Kojima new game, his game could be released in 2018.

Polyphony Digital is in Japan unlike Naughty Dog which in USA. The Language and Distance barrier isn't the only difficulties. All Japanese developers have difficulties developing advance 3D graphics for the PS4, including SONY Japanese studios.

There's another option, Naughty Dog make Hideo Kojima's new game and good luck to SONY's Japanese studios.

WTF.. I never said anything about UE4, I said UC4 aka Ucharted 4's ENGINE!

Those are different things. PD engine is a specialized thing for that one type of stage based games with limited camera motion, and memory management crafted for this specification, this provides a lot of room for optimization here, but will suck as a general engine for shooters for example or open world scheme. UE on the other hand is general engine for any kind of visualisation, which will suck if you want to squeeze extra 'oomph' out of it. Different sides of the same coin.

If any SONY Japanese Studios knows how to use any version of Uncharted engine, they would already Use it. SONY JAPAN does not know how to use Uncharted 4 engine! Why would SONY spend millions of dollar on UC4 engine and not also be use to make JRPGs? Language Barriers and lack of Technical Support.

Neither Unreal Engine 4 nor Unity 5 have successfully powered any AAA Japanese Games. Fox Engine did, because it is in Japanese. What other engine is comparable to Fox Engine that Hideo Kojima can get, without needing months, years for his team to learn, more importantly Japanese speaking support in Japan? SONY's Polyphony Digital.

Best Multiplayer of 2025

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "Whether looking back at Tennis for Two as the first competitive video game, Spacewar! as the first documented case of an e-Sport tournament, or the first pure cooperative experience in Fire Truck, multiplayer has been a cornerstone of gaming. Today, it's now the driving force in both multi-million-dollar competitions and social interactions – for better or worse. Publishing executives have collectively sacrificed fat stacks and reputable game studios for the faint hope of discovering a new Fortnite. From Sony to Microsoft to Ubisoft, this frenzied chase for the next diamond mine has fundamentally altered publishers' output trajectory – both in quantity and style.

Even with such unfortunate business realities, there's still a bright side: the successes that capture the spirit of competition, comradery, or both simultaneously. As evidenced below, 2025 was a commendable year for multiplayer of any stripe. Each of our finalists captured special stories that we won't soon forget, from last-second goals to valiant comebacks against all odds."
