Big Surprise! Wait, no...

Maybe I wasn't as attentive in my younger years, or possibly it's a new fad amongst gamers, but, as of late; there's been so many leaks about big Console-war altering announcements. And, unfortunately, it's to no avail. Regardless of being clarified by fairly major gaming sites.

It always leads to the pinnacle of speculation: Final Fantasy VII Remake. I for one, am sick of it. Oh no, not the game - damn, I want a remake, it's just that it's the ultimate assumption. But, alas, the saviour of this growing fad is... the countdown! Ever want to make sure of something? Find a countdown on the official site that the claim boils down to. For instance, remember the Capcom Countdown; ''PS3 owners will forgive us'' sounds intriguing, right? It wasn't too great, but still; it was something.

''If only...''

It's more evident now, I believe - because this is a pretty tense console war, each side has pros and cons, and is willing to fight to the bitter end. Developers seem to be torn between loyalty, high development costs, and money. It leaves fans disheartened and in some cases, a dislike of the Developer entirely.

It's becoming a sad norm, and seems to run a slight bit deeper then meets the eye. Imagine you're stupid enough to assume a ''big announcement'' you've heard that Square-Enix are planning is a Final Fantasy VII Remake, instantaneously you go and shell out a couple of hundred on a PS3, so sure of your self. It's the only game you want; and then, that's not the announcement. Instead, you're sitting in awe at the computer screen with the words; ''Final Fantasy IV DS Remake!!'' echoing throughout your head. Bet that feels bad. A robust sense of disgust. But, unfortunately you can't blame Square-Enix. After all, there was no mention of a Final Fantasy announcement.

Obviously, it would be more the console's fault, usually, they start up the vicious rumour, to amass a bit of 'free' publicity. The Developers are merely caught in the crossfire, one of their beloved series' getting the 'special' treatment. It shows no sign of dying down, who knows which ill-fated game will be next? After all, most of the great series' have fallen victim to it, perhaps now, it'll be an abominable resurrection of a past gem, who, somehow didn't make a successful transition into the contemporary era. And let the truth be told, there's alot of them.

What has this generation succumbed to already? No, aside from delays and Hardware problems. The answer I'm looking for is a certain degree of lies, in pretty much every direction you take. It's a sad reality, as hopes are risen and crushed all in the space of a day. As you've probably noticed, it doesn't all lie within false gaming announcements, it lies in all aspects of the media. It can be even tracked back to the delays and Hardware problems, RROD anyone? The PS3? And who usually gets the back end of it? Europe. Sure, it's always been like this, I guess we've wrongly came to accept it. But, it really doesn't show signs of changing. The great thing is though, when a 'leak' circulates, and of course - I've become criticial of it, it's such a feeling of pure unadulterated bliss when I'm proved wrong, and we're kindly greeted to brand new game. And if this happens to be the case... c'mon Dino Crisis 4!

Dino Crisis4:........not after the D.C3 fiasco.

Meh I feel capcom is still coming into this gen. If we get SF4 for consoles I will be happy as hell.Dino would be good but I would prefer a new Dark Stalkers or details on RE 5 already!!!!

FF7 would be great but truth is I still play it on PS1... I played it for gameplay and all it will be is the same game with an added bonus or 2 with a shiney new coat of paint. I would rather see something new...

To be fair, I think this generation has succumbed to nothing but the internet, which is a messy forum of false hierachy (since everyone on the internet is equal really).

Easy to start rumours, easier to share rumours, and easiest to hear rumours.

anyone who is stupid enough to buy a console based on a rumour deserves what they get

I had a huge nerdgasm when I saw the Final Fantasy 7 ps3 boxart.

Capcom has been fairly crappy recently.

As for FF7 remake, that was actually one of the many reasons I chose to pick up a PS3 in the first place, and still hold hopes for it, no matter how unlikely it is.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit2d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing2d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster922d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
