Dear Sony,
It is with mixed emotions I send this letter not only on behalf of myself but the gaming community. I understand the PSN being down for a week now is in no way Sony’s fault and I truly don’t think the blame you are getting on various message boards, websites, and forums is warranted. I appreciate the quality you bring to gamers; I mean your system “Only does everything” however you fail miserably at one thing…..PR!
You see I know as a corporation of your size there is a fine line to walk with what you can and can’t say to ensure you handle things properly. However continuously saying nothing is not the route to go. We have become all to accustom with the traditional Sony response: “We do not comment on rumor and speculation” or “We are working on it”. If this was information you were holding for E3 I would understand, if this were a simple PSN update I would understand, but it’s not. We are talking about potential damage to the consumer in the form of stolen identity. In today’s society where stolen identity is so common, and your credit score holds so much weight in this economy, its not only unacceptable, but irresponsible of Sony to stay mute on the subject. This morning I received an email stating the following:
We have discovered that between April 17 and April 19, 2011,
certain PlayStation Network and Qriocity service user account
information was compromised in connection with an illegal and
unauthorized intrusion into our network.
Today is April 27, 2011, there is no way it should take you 10 days to notify me my information could have been potentially compromised. Your average consumer may or may not be well versed in how important this information is, and whether fair or unfair the burden of educating them falls on your shoulders.
I absolutely understand that there is a thin line for you to walk as a major corporation. I understand that PR can be tricky, but mum is the word is not always the answer.
Yours truly,
The Consumer .

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
They can only tell you information that they have, nothing more. They weren't aware of the possible CC information theft until very recently, so how could they tell you about it if they didn't know?
