Console Life

I personally only own a Wii as my only console with a quite capable PC to back me up when i need some heavy graphics but this blog does not only consider the PC or the WII, this speaks to all consoles.

I have noticed when a console is launched there are usually a few games to go along with it and then the drought. And its a painful time because you have played anything you want to play and can't wait to see whats next, hoping something worth your time comes out. This does finally happen a few months down the road and you start to see a trickle of titles coming your way that you wish to play, (at least i do). This keeps you happy and during the holiday season there is usually a few good games coming at once but since its the holiday its okay because you can buy them with that extra few bucks Grandma stuffed in your stockings, or left under your dreidel or put under the quanza tree (you get my point). And even though its not easy to find all this time to play these games you still find the time and you enjoy them until the next batch come out.

This is where the problem lays, I noticed that recently there have been so many great games coming out that i cannot find the time or money to play them all. There is a list of games i wish to buy used but since the wii is quite new there are hardly any bargains for the wii. Having bought almost all the great games and rented the rest because there is just not enough money to buy them all at once. I have rented ZACK AND WIKI and beat it all, great and challenging game. I rented Boom Blox and i wish i could buy it but 50 bux is a lot and now more and more great games are on the horizon. Between work and school and games and my girlfriend it is very difficult to find the TIME and MONEY for all this. In Canada there is no Service like GAMEFLY that i am aware of and if any of you reader out there know one PM me please.

So even though the games are getting better and there is more and more and more to play as the consoles mature there comes a time where its too much and certain games get overlooked. GTA launched around the same time as MARIO KART and they both sold amazingly well, but many people wanting to enjoy both couldn't. And now with WiiWare games coming out (yes its new to Nintendo but i know there is the LiveMarketPlace and PSN network way before WiiWare) it is even harder to budget money and time for a game.

So now i will be making my list longer, if i find any game on my list cheap i will buy it but until then i'll have to suffer and play TF2, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mario Strikers, MOH:H2, GH3 (i will not buy ROCKBAND, no room for everything lol) Paper Mario, No More Heroes, Scarface (yet to finish) and possibly smack some people around in The Godfather Blackhand Edition. or possibly unlock Luigi in GALAXY.. i'm about 11 stars short.. (damn purple coins)

I have Bully on the way from ebay (35bux) which isn't bad and since i didn't play it before i will enjoy it fully, now i need to find OKAMI cheap and Battallion wars 2..

Anyways, HAPPY GAMING and i hope you all get to play what you want..

PS. If you owned the GameCube like myself you did not experience this, the gamecube had few and far between good games. There were a few but not as many good games as the Wii, 360 or slowly the PS3 is getting. Also the PS2 was a madhouse for great games..

Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven (NS) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Woolhaven is proof that Massive Monster made the right decision to stick with Cult of the Lamb. By retaining everything the vanilla version does right, and adding several novelties — a somber story about the Lamb's lost clan, two new dungeons filled with unexpected horrors, a wintry weather system that changes the rules of survival, and consequential ranching and rot mechanics — the expansion takes what was already a great game and makes it even better. If you own and love Cult of the Lamb, make sure you pick up this expansion as soon as time and money allow. And if you've never heard of the game before now, consider this the optimal time to invest."

Review: Avowed (PS5) - Overlooked Xbox RPG Arrives with Some Big Upgrades - PS

Avowed is arguably Obsidian's strongest modern release, and it's not for the reasons that you may think. While the game's writing and storytelling often lack bite and excitement, its gameplay saves the day with a cracking combat system, meaningful player choice, and the enjoyable exploration of some truly stunning locales.
