Problem is, if you really take an honest look at Nintendo, all they've been doing is remakes since the N64 days. That such has become more and more obvious with system generation and that includes handhelds.

theonlylolking5432d ago

YAY! Someone else that notices that Nintendo has been doing that for over 15 years. I see people complain about COD but maybe they are forgetting about nintendo.

BTW, Super mario galaxy 1 is awesome since it is different from other mario games.

I am not one to buy re-makes or HD versions of a game I played years ago since I keep my consoles and games...well most games.

bunfighterii5433d ago

I dunno about remakes, but one thing I can't buy into are these HD re-releases. I bought MGS one of the PSN store, and though it stands as one of my all time greatest games, it felt so dated playing it again, that I couldn't finish. Revolutionary for its time, but too old to go back to now. Since then I've steered clear of all these HD upgrades, like I'll be steering clear of the Metal Gear re-releases. I'm scared it'll sour my memories of some of my favourite games by how dated they'll feel.

The only positive side of HD re-releases (I refuse to call them remakes) is that the crowd who missed those games before get to play them now, since backwards compatibility this gen is almost a no-go. I haven't played MGS2 and 3 and I sure wish I have. If my PS3 didn't die, I'd get the HD collection without a second thought.

" Revolutionary for its time, but too old to go back to now."

Which is your opinion that you are more than entitled to, however, I cannot share it as I still believe that MGS holds up well as an entertainingly solid product (no pun intended).

If MGS is too old to upgrade without a full remake either do one, or put it as well as MG and MG2 on the disc in their original form.

bunfighterii5432d ago

I respect your opinion as a fellow Metal Gear fan :)

My main bugbear was the control and camera. I didn't mind the dated graphics, the story is still among the best games have to offer, the cutscenes were great, but have to control snake with the D pad, with a fixed camera, I just couldn't do it- that was the most dated aspect. Being a master of the modern third person action game, I just found myself struggling to control Snake. It might be my short attention span also.

Try switching your mode to analogue, that helps.
I think it may be because I've played that game enough times to wear out a disc that I don't find it a problem. Mind you, it does highlight how much they improved the grab neck/throwing controls later on.

I think you deserve a bubble for taking the comment politely as intended and responding with something that added to the conversation, an increasingly rare beast in these parts.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing4d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster924d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit4d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing4d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster923d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
