OK everyone. I am sure almost every single person here has at some point played one of the Resident Evil games. (Which in my honest opinion is one of the best franchises out there.) At any rate it was more than likely Resident Evil 4 which everyone seems to love and adore. Everyone looks up at Leon like he's the greatest video game character who ever lived.
What about the other games? The storyline you missed out on?
The Resident Evil franchise has always been about horror. Ever since the first game was released for Playstation. The games involved zombies, skinless dogs (known as Cerberus), amphibous creatures that want to remove your head from your shoulders (Hunters), and of course theTyrants. That stuff was scary and still is scary to me when I think about. I fell in love the first time I attempted to guide Chris Redfield through the horrors the Mansion. And I have bought every game since then and still own them. I bought 1,2,3,CV,0, Outbreak, Outbreak 2, and both survivor games.
And then Resident Evil 4 was released....
I was hyped when I saw the commercials thinking about the return about one of the games most celebrated characters. I was also excited with the fact that the game looked completely amazing and that the game play had been revamped. I played the game and beat it in less than 2 days. The game play and visuals were truly amazing but the old storyline. The one I loved so much was no longer there. I felt betrayed by Capcom. I mean what is Resident Evil without zombies? It's like Nintendo without Mario and Xbox with Master Chief.
I was impressed that Capcom had managed to gain much more attention with Resident Evil 4, but I was also hurt that they had basically turned the game around 360 degrees and started a fresh story with. "Umbrella is finished"...
It doesn't work that way. It took 3 games to get out Raccoon City. But none to completely destroy Umbrella? This was extremely wrong. Also I didn't like the Plaga's at all.
I don't know anymore, I mean Umbrella Chronicles tried to tie all the loose ends together but it was like thrown together by a two year old. I personally believe there should be one last good old fashioned RE game. With all of the games protagonists in it.
However, I do look forward to RE5 and I hope and pray for the best.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
I will admit I have played only two Resident Evil games. I played 3 for a while and I played a limited amount of the first game after I played 3.
I however find the story fascinating (I did read all their novelization), it's just survival horror is not my genre of choice. I will however look at RE5 hard, the brighter atmosphere may make the game a bit more fun.
However, to each their own :)
I don't understand why people love the game, it's not even scary. They changed the series from a horror game with action elements to an action game with horror elements. And now it's gonna be in the daylight, how sad...
Was refocus the enemy to beat into Wesker for design reasons. Nothing that happened seemed to unface the corporation and they couldnt make an assault the hq thing without turning the game into a much more of an action game than it currently is.
To remain a survival horror game it needed a change in focus which is what they are trying to achieve converting the old faceless corporation into a single evil entity known as Wesker in order to eventualy bring it to an end by having chris dispatch him. The plagas was a way to stop with the thousand variants of the t virus and still keep the japanese title meaningfull "BIOHAZARD", and a way to come closer to weskers true motivation and a final revival of umbrella.
For what i heard five will tie with the original storyline by stating the origin of the progenitor virus the basis for the t virus.
Well Xion... I know wat ur saying and I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think Capcom would be seriously pushing their luck if they tell us RE6 will play like RE4/5. I'm almost certain there's a mass amount of people that feel the same way. If Capcom does make that announcement though, people are probably gonna either b**ch like crazy or write some pretty well thought out blogs like the one I'm commenting on.
*sigh* I still wonder about whether or not Capcom's gonna keep trying to milk RE4's "game-play mechanics"
I love RE4 & will most likely love RE5, but c'mon Capcom, after RE5, bring back the old-school...
im waiting for them to make a sandbox resident evil game with a whole city infested
