3 Underrated Games that Need Sequels

Over this Generation of gaming, there has been a select number of great games overlooked, which inevitably is quite the shame as they had strong potential to grow into great franchise's if given another go, this being through a sequel. The following games, in my opinion, were great games, overlooked and whilst its unlikely of them recieving sequels, I would love to se it done...

1) TIMESHIFT
This game was simply put...bloody good fun (excuse the pun).
The outrageous gameplay, the original use of Time abilities (in both Single Player and Multiplayer). The graphics were great, nothing to grace the presense of graphical beasts, but good, especially when the gamer uses the abilities provided, to stop time and see the rain still, its great stuff. Whilst the story was quite generic, the gameplay more than made up for it. The multiplayer was short lived, after a few months the servers fell empty, which was a shame as I knew a number of people whom LOVED the multiplayer, but were unable to play it. A sequel to this game would be fantastic, yet doubtful news.

2) SHADOWRUN
No, not the RPG, the Online FPS. The game was addictive, whilst FPS's aren't my favourite, they can be addictive. Whilst the community has deminished over the years, there are sttill a reasonable amount of players, still locked within that addiction. The games major flaw was its lack of variety, don't get me wrong, the class' are varied, the play styles are varied, but for a title to go souly multiplayer, it needs to have a HUGE Catalogue of game modes and maps. Whilst everygame plays out differently, the game does get repetetive, the game consists of three modes, none of which feel different from the other. With FASA studios no longer, the chances of a sequel seem the same.

3) TUROK
This game was great, no matter what anyone claims, I loved it, sure it wasn't the best game to grace the shelves of your local game store, but it was (for me) undeniably fun. The game had its flaws, the stealth was broken, the 3 sided battle between Whisky co, wolfpack and the dinosaurs was almost non-existant, the AI *Shudders* well lets just say it wasnt the greatest and the unoriginal story. But the game had all the ingrediants of a hit game, good graphics, good dual wielding, secondary fire, co op challenges, multiplayer with active dinosaur bots, it was a great laugh, now the servers are practically empty, there was word of a sequel, of which according to a released picture was seemingly set to involve controllable dinosaurs, but unfortunatly, the game was cancelled.

turok was pretty good but it's a concept thats screaming for a bigger budget or a more talented studio. it should have been much more than "not bad".

I am an actual fan of Turok and Timeshift :), and yeah I loved the way Timeshift handled the puzzles

Read the first line, its games of THIS Generation, sorry if you don't agree, but it is my opinion.

I like how you say "whilst FPS's aren't my favourite", and yet all three mentions are FPS' ^^

Yes because my favoured game genre is Third Person Shooter and the ones I've enjoyed and see worthy of sequels, have sequels.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit2d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

Tanktopmaster921d 23h ago

Let me be clear. This is sarcasm
