My Game of the Year Awards

Excuse me if this is is a bad blog, if so, I'm sorry.

So it's the time of the year where games are given awards. I want to give my awards out, if that's okay.

Best Fighting Game: Injustice: Gods Among Us
Simply, this game is good. After making the amaze-fest called Mortal Kombat, Netherrealm Studios comes back and makes something better. From the moment I heard of this game I thought that simply, I must have this. I loved Mortal Kombat, and so when I first heard of this, I wanted it. I was glad I got it. So instead of reading about it, if you don't have this wonderful game get it.

Best Shooter: Bioshock Infinite
Really, when I first started playing this game, I was in awe. Those graphics were beautiful, and as I played in the beginning, I was excited to meet Elizabeth. The ambiance was amazing and (excuse me for my lack of rememberance) when I went to the universe where Booker was killed as a martyr, and saw that woman at the stocks singing, I just listened. I took a break from killing and just listened. That is what made this game great.

Best Platformer: Guacamelee
If anything, this game was a large suprise. This game was fun though. The graphics were amazing. It was just fun. I'm sorry, but really, I'm at a loss for words, so you'll have excuse me.

Best Indie: Hotline Miami
This game was pure, unadulterated, violent fun. I'm usually one who goes through the story, not caring for collectibles or score, but this game changed that. I was always trying to unlock the next gun or mask, and those graphics on the PSVita were gory, violent, but amazing nonetheless.

Best Action/Adventure: 3-Way Tie: Tomb Raider, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, and Grand Theft Auto 5
All 3 of these games I believed looked and played amazingly. As someone who never played the old Tomb Raider games (don't shoot me, okay) I believed that Lara Croft's story was fleshed out in a better way I believe. It showed a young woman who was willing to do anything she could to save her friends and (SPOILERS) when her friend dies on that sinking ship, that made me feel her pain. As for Assassins Creed 4, the pirate combat was amazing, Edward's story for redemption (sort of) was great, and that ending had me teary eyed. All I can say about GTA V was that it was FUN, just FUN.

Best Overall: GTA V
THIS GAME WAS FUN. I'm a sucker for open world games, so this was just pure bliss for me. Personally, the story wasn't touching, but ot was good in a good cheesy action movie flick sort of way. the graphics were beautiful, and mission layout (Caida Libre, I'm looking at you) was fun and made wanna replay the story multiple times. That is why GTA V is my GOTY.

If you have any grievances with this blog, just tell me, and once again, I'm sorry if its bad.

Metacritic Removes Resident Evil 9 Review From Fake AI Writer

Kotaku writes: "A Resident Evil Requiem review published by long-standing UK gaming news site Videogamer has been removed from Metacritic after readers pointed out it was written by a fake AI journalist who doesn’t actually exist. Videogamer‘s human masthead was gutted last week, sources tell Kotaku, and the site has been publishing apparent genAI slop ever since."

Genuinely well done on metacritic for taking such an immediate hard stance. Not often, if at all, you see that these days. Credit where it’s due.
