Indie Game Month Studio & Monthly Winners Are Here

Hello everyone!

We want to take a moment to once again thank everyone who helped make Indie Game Month the success it was. We had 31 developers who gave their time to share their games with you, 5 different writers who made this happen, and over 4000 comments from you, our users, discussing the games we shared. Without any of you, this would not have happened.

But, without our sponsors, we would not have been able to select one developer to win our Indie of the Month. One Indie studio was voted on by you, our users, and has won $13,500 in money.

And who did you vote for this year?

The Norway-based studio that is currently working on Earthlock: Festival of Magic was welcomed openly by our users and won the hearts and minds of many of our users.

Thank you to Bendik and his crew over at SnowCastle and the best of luck to them on Earlock and their future endeavors. We can't thank you enough for taking your time to share with us about your studio.

If you missed out on their game, take a moment to stop over their site and find out a bit more about Earthlock: http://www.earthlockgame.co...

Now, in addition to Indie Game Month Studio, we already ran a few contests during the month for some WASD Keyboards keyboards and even a $200 Gift Card as well as a month-long contest for winning an Xbox One bundle or a PS4 bundle.

Here are the winners for these items:

WASD Keyboards
- Non-custom keyboard #1: yarbie1000
- Non-custom keyboard #2: WildArmed
- Custom keyboard #1: Emilio_Estevez
- Custom keyboard #2: MasterofMagnetism
- $200 Gift Card: Fullmetalevolust

PS4 Console w/Game Codes: WildArmed

Xbox One Bundle: Emilio_Estevez

Congratulations to our winners! Now for some interesting stats on our winners:

- yarbie1000 won the keyboard with only 2 entries on the day of the contest and a total of 2 entries for the month. Talk about lucky!

- Emilio_Estevez had a total of 57 entries during the month and won two of the big prizes. But got truly lucky when the first two winners of the keyboard failed to get back to us in 7 days time.

- WildArmed won based on dedication with 97 entries during the month, the 2nd highest number of entries all together.

- MasterofMagnetism was lucky on his day, but had a total of 90 entries during the month, one of our top eleven users for the month. (Edit: previously had top 10, but Master was actually #11.)

- Fullmetalevolust had 73 entries during the month but truly shined when his number popped up for winning the big $200 gift card.

- Our top 10 participants during Indie Game Month represent 30% of total entries during the event.

Just a Note: Tickets will be going out the rest of this week for other award winners.

Let me be the first to say: Rigged! lol.

For real though, glad we got to see a lot of really interesting and unique games this month and also that we are able to give a large sum of money to help one of those teams out in making their dream a reality.

Congrats to all the other winners and take that cb!

Excellent work by the authors of the blogs too, couldn't have done it without them.

And lastly, Christopher deserves a whole steaming heap of thanks for all his efforts to bring this to the peoples. Nice job sir.

Edit: Can't believe I almost forgot to say thanks for the kb and X1!

You're luckier than you know.

Whenever I run numbers I run a few extra... you came up twice in a row (#2 and #3). Glad you didn't pop up #1 and #2... think of the internal debate I'd have on questioning whether it's right a person won both bundles?

Just a look at how much fun I get in totaling up winners: http://i.imgur.com/A6lO81S....

Luck is my middle name :)

Dat spreadsheet though! - I can take care of that for you, well versed in excel. I swear to not adjust myself into 1st place at all.

@Christoper: Thank you so much for all your had work and dedication into making indie month a really fun one to follow and interact with on N4G.
Kudos to all the writers and previewers, can't be easy to get it all done and interview all these amazing developers.
Congrats Emilio and to all those who won and made the comment sections fun to read.
That spreadsheet looks insane! :)

Congrats Emilio! Let me know how you like your Xbox One! I've been thinking about taking the plunge and getting one as well.

Congrats to all the other winners too and especially to Christopher for all of the hard work you put into this.

I think it was another rousing success this year!

"PS4 Console w/Game Codes: WildArmed"

I could almost taste it. Oddly enough, I had a premonition Wild might win that one too. Sounds crazy but that seriously happened before I'd seen this posted.

Edit: And a tip of the hat to Christopher and the rest of the HAVAMedia team. Being behind the scenes for this one, I know it wasn't easy trying to whip up the plethora of different developers and the hectic activity of getting things finalized. Plus, the extra sponsors and endorsements were great additions. Hope to see that stuff next year!

Congrats to winners too. :D

WildArmed3967d ago

So you were secretly praying for me? At an unconscious level XD

Goood... goooodd...

coolbeans3967d ago

No...No...that's not true!

That's impossible!

Stringerbell3968d ago

Congrats guys and welcome to the club of winning a console from one of the Hava sites. Membership dues are in the mail =p

coolbeans3968d ago (Edited 3968d ago )

Now I have two more to add to my hit list of 'users who stole my chances of winning a console when it just within my reach.'

It's gonna be a bit trickier with 2 mods on the list now. :P

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio55d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing55d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9255d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit55d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing55d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9255d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
