Mini Q&A
Answers provided by Martijn Reuvers, Co-Founder/Programmer/Legal Guy/Paperwork Dude
Why do you make games?
We started making games in 1999 when Collin [van Ginkel], myself, and some other people made a game for the Gameboy Color. It was called Toki Tori and we loved it, we loved doing it so much, that we decided why aren't we doing this more often and make a business out of it? I played a lot of games in the 90s and always enjoyed doing that. When we figured out we could make our own games, that was very awesome. So, we decided to do that and I'm still doing that!
Why should people play titles from Two Tribes?
I think because we truly care about polishing our games. When we're trying to make a game, we put in way too much effort to get everything right. We try to be a lot like Nintendo, because we feel their games have a very high polish factor. But with a smaller budget.
What element of game design do you hold above all others?
That's usually a question for Collin, but I would say, again, that polishing is very important to us. Also, we don't really like manuals and people reading stuff, so playing our games should feel very natural. We want to encourage exploration and just trying things out. We just want to encourage people to be creative. So, I would say, both polish and intuitiveness are on equal footing in this regard.

Day 24 | Two Tribes

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
Hell yes! This looks sick! I love that you can hack robots to make them work for you. am seriously digging this.
Giant robots are just my jam. This looks sweet. Played the Wii U demo just a few weeks ago during E3. Very nice.
Looks like a blast. Also very nice visually.
So much going on plus giant robots! Looking forward
Oh these people made Toki Tori, I've played a little of that.
