We all argue about how MW2 is selling too much, how FPS games haven't changed for years, and yeah... They're fun games. They're shaping online for the good, and it's probably because there isn't online in games that should have it (Mirror's Edge anyone?).
So... Can we, the MASS, HARDCORE gamers... Change this FPS barrage?
What would the genre be? RPG? RTS? Racing? Platforming? Third Person Shooter? Action? Fighting?
Well, my answer is no. None of these. For starters RockStar HAS been doing this : emulating what makes a great Single Player and adding first-class multiplayer and yeah... games have sold amazingly well. But the online doesn't thrive in those games. It's because we think "amazing game!"... "Now wheres my MW2 disc? I need frags".
How can a game CONTAIN the entire audience? Don't forget before CoD4 there wasn't ONE game (exception of Halo) that had the market. On PC... It's fairly clear cut : Counter Strike Source and other Valve games. On console? Much harder to determine.
Even when a developer actually trys to gain this market they don't do well in grasping it, like Red Dead Redemption... Battlefield 1942 sold well, and had a large player base. But if you look at what game the people who bought it are playing now, it's 80% likely they're playing MW2.
Annoying? Yes. I feel bad for EA and developers who deserve a HUGE, and I mean 400K player base (Naughty Dog, Guerilla, Zipper etc) but the thing is even when they sell stupidly well the online player base dwindles to the 40K mark if they're lucky.

A multiplayer parkour experience, Parkour Labs, is making its way to PlayStation 5 with PSVR 2 support next month alongside a PC update also adding VR support.

IRON GUARD: Salvation is finally making the jump onto PSVR2, bringing strategic VR action to the PlayStation 5.

Tales of Berseria is still a high point of the series and the genre with its excellent storytelling, but the baffling decision to port a game that is readily available on modern platforms is puzzling.
Sadly no....PC gamers claimed far and wide that they would boycott MW2...MW2 on PC outsold COD4's PC lifetime sales...in the first few days.
I think the cheap 'online only' tacked on MP is the reason so few play. There are rarely new game modes introduced, and even the 'new' game types are just a new face on an old idea. I think online only MP is a way for devs to be lazy and not have to program BOT A.I for MP. If the servers could be filled with bots, MP in games would have much more longevity. WHo want to play deathmatch over and over in 50 different games always relying on a bunch of people playing the same time as you.
Bring back the bots, and death to activision, only then will gaming be fun again.
