A game that wasn't on my radar and is now #1

It's a game called Two Worlds 2. I'll just go ahead and name the amazing features that have brought me to pre-order it (something I've not done in AGES). I've pre-ordered it on PC but it's out on PS3 and 360 (might get the PS3 version too).

- 25 hour SP

- 15 hour Side-quests

- 60 Square Miles of Land and sea

- Sailing

- Horses & other mounts.

- No lead platform : all being developed simulataneously with the GRACE engine

- NPCs will remember actions you've done to them. Species/races of NPCs have unique personas such as Orcs where they won't hesitate in slicing your head off.

- Morality system isn't laid out in good or evil. Your choices matter, and will have consequences but they're not determined as good/evil/neutral.

- Spend AP on anything you choose : no starting classes. You can mix and match Range with Magic, with melee as you please.

- Co-OP (Completely seperate from the SP): 8 hours and 8 players!

- Unique villages, economy, marketplace, in multiplayer (Your individual town because specialized in Swords, or leather or whatever). You defend it from bandits, invite friends, truly innovative (I'm sure other MMOs or whatever have had SOMETHING like this but It's the first I'm hearing about in a primarily SP RPG).

- 8 player PVP : Deathmatch, TDM, etc.

- Crystal Hunt Mode (MP) : a huge field where you collect crystals and you become faster and more powerful the more crystals you have. But you also become a target as if you die the person who killed you gets your crystals.

- Oculus : Kill animals and you gain a power that gives you a floating eyeball that you can control and scout ahead of you (similar to the robot in MGS4 I guess). It also has an attack depending on the different animal/creature you've killed.

- Hunting just like Red Dead Redemption.

- Dinosaurs, Ostriches, Baboons, Zombies, etc.

- Combine Spell combinations : Combine Air with Fire balls or summon with fire etc. Literally every spell "card" can be combined in very unique ways (video shows air with the environment where the anvils and barrels hit the enemies)

- Combine Armour : Break armour into parts and combine components. All items can have custom colours so you're hero will always look unique in MP!

- Capes!! OMG I think we should all be wearing capes in real life but it's such a shame that RPGs hardly ever have capes anymore : Don't get me wrong, there are SOME. A few MMOs but again... It saddens me to not see more capes/cloaks! :P

I don't work for Reality Pump, but I do wish more people would have this on their radar. The game is slightly under RRP already and if enough people buy it... you can't argue it's going to be magnificent. It's a truly multiplayer RPG! I mean... This will pretty much be the first of it's kind on this generation of consoles. Demon's Souls and WKC have MP but they're not traditional RPGs!

Videos :

This one shows the hunting system, the open world, the unique environments, the armour, the graphics, the lighting, everything here is attention to detail (Similar to the RDR trailers)

This is the spell system + Customization options from E3, seriously AMAZING stuff, the magic looks so fun so the combat won't really ever get boring unlike... let's be honest... every RPG out there:

Part 1 : http://www.gametrailers.com...

Part 2 : http://www.gametrailers.com...

Capes!!!, Duel-wielding, unique foggy environment. That's the thing with RPGs they do look lovely but they often re-use assets so much and randomally generate areas that the world isn't fun to explore after a while. Whereas Two Worlds 2 doesn't randomally generate anything and therefore we get really unique areas : towns, swamps, oasises, islands, forests, fields, etc.

I really love the look of the caves it's not just a generic cave with crystals or whatever it looks like it actually has a purpose. Oblivion has GREAT dungeons but they all look the same. Even ones from the main quest have nothing different except maybe extra NPCs!

I don't expect much from this game. The 1st one was considered to be the most awful game of this gen. Too Human might of taken that honor though.

Too Human was pretty good so hardly worst game of this gen. I couldn't play Two Worlds for more than 10 minutes before returning it.

dkgshiz5755d ago

It was horrible. Especially the death scene. Every time you die you have to wait for that angel thing to come down and touch you. It takes forever.

Corrected5754d ago

It punishes you for being bad.

But, TW2 is looking pretty damn good. There was a 2-3 minute clip of actual game play on here the other day and I gotta say I am impressed. I was also like you, after 10 minutes I turned off TW and returned it all sorts of pissed off.

Compare a sequel to the first game. Look at Killzone 1 and 2, just because the first game doesn't do well, does not mean the sequel will be as bad, some devs do learn from their mistakes.

On the contrary, Final Fantasy X and X-2 worked opposite, where the first was great, and the sequel was...well not terrible, but just not as good or fun as the first. But either way, let's just wait until we get our hands on the game(or reviewers at least) before we condemn this game.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing2d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster922d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit2d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing2d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster922d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
