Gaming today is a disgrace. Not because of lack of quality games but the way gamers buy their systems. Lets start with the Xbox 360. It breaks. We should all know this by now. Would you buy a car that broke down? Of course not so why would you by a console knowing its going to break? Maybe its just the stupid people who never learned the "value of a dollar" thing that buy it but there are other consoles that dont break nearly as often yet they stand by their 360 regardless. Why? Dont you know if you support this it encourages future consoles to be this way as well? If microsoft were to even get second place in this "war" they would do the same thing again, release the xbox 3 a year early without checking for bugs and we would have the same problem. Why? Because they know they can get away with it! That's why they build a junk Windows because they knew people would buy and use it anyway.
Next comes the Wii. Best selling console of this generation. Why? Your guess is a good as mine. Horrible specs, bad graphical capabilities , lack of new franchises and gimmicky features. Its clearly the weakest console of this generation but people (or should I say 10 year olds moms) have bought this white box like it was food or something. Gaming as a whole has gotten to where it is because the strongest console wins, then they are forced to steroid inject the next console with state of the art hardware so we can have much better consoles next time around. Its a cycle soon to be broken if the Wii wins the "console war" because then we wont see much of an upgrade with the ps4 and 720. Why? Because if Wii won trhe "console war" they wil have done it without spending a lot of money to make the Wii yet it sells. This is gold for business but not for gamers because mimickry of the wiis strategey of having weaker specs and more gimmicks will lead to what? A weaker 8th genration rather then a stronger one and people supporting this (unknowingly most likely).
This is why people need to think about what they what they are supporting and how it's going to impact our future of gaming. That the gamers problem today. Most of them are not smart enough to know these things or even smart enough to know what they are buying. So are gamers getting dumber? You decide.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
I agree with what you're saying, but... in the end, it all comes down to personal preference. See the 'Diff'rent Strokes' theme for guidance.
I bought a Wii knowing full well what it was capable of....I bought it for new experiences and new ways to play....consoles at a point will run out of places to go with graphics and I thought Nintendo's idea of a new controller interface was good and refreshing.
And people buy the 360 because you get shop warranties and an extended MS warranty....And they all want the console with the most current-gen games.
I think you should also mention the PS3 and when it launched it's price was far to high, imagine if it had sold well and stayed at it's current price it'd say all consumers are willing to splash the cash for over-priced goods....
Oh and I will say gamers have gotten dumber, what with all the story-less puzzle-less FPS that are flooding the market...
