MP3 to PS3 from a simple website

As most Ps3 owners will tell you, it was a shock to find out that the website "stage6.com" was to close down.

For those that don't know the history behind this site, it was a High Definition "youtube" type venture run by Divx. The whole idea behind it was to allow complete freedom to the community with out size or length limits.
Basically, you could upload and download full shows in HD if you saw fit.

What made Stage6 so great was the fact that with a little knowhow, you could download the videos from the site, directly to your PS3.

Unfortunately, the site has since been shut down, after legal issues, and over all feeling the team behind the site had met there goal of creating a great video community.

"But this has nothing to do with MP3s!"
You must be saying by now. Your absolutely right, but the idea behind it is completely the same. Direct downloads to the PS3 from a website.

I found a way to download songs on a hunch, believe it or not, while messing with my iPhone.
Bare with me, the idea was to try and use an iPhone enabled site, specific to the iPhone to allow for it to listen to MP3's over the internet.
What I found was better then what I hoped for, Files after being clicked would ask if I wanted to download to the Hard drive or USB device.

Before I get to far ahead of my self, the site is "www.seeqpod.com/iphone".
Now, lets talk about some of the draw backs to this method.

First, you cant do an actual search using the search feature, you need to select either by artist or by album(an A~Z selection is available from this menu).

Second, your wasting hard drive space.
you may not really want to waste your hard drive space if your still using that 20 or 40 Gig that came with your system, I opted for more space and installed a 250GB about a year ago, haven't even come close to running low on space since.

Third, whats the point?
Its not like you cant just play your CDs on it, or transfer via thumb drive from a PC.
Some may even find it stupid to even think of using the PS3 to play MP3's in general.

Over all, I bring this to the community as an easter egg, just something that you "can" do, and you don't "have" to.
Its your call in the end, you can think of this as stupid, unappealing, or the greatest discovery since man first walked on the moon(please die if you agree to the moon part), in the end its just another way to get some entertainment out of an already very entertaining system.

I really really really really really really really really really miss Stage 6. It was SOOOOO much better than youtube, and not only were the videos higher quality, but the content was higher quality too (usually).
