In an interview with Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) salesman, not once he spoke about making UE4 easier and cut development time for Japanese Developers. Playstation 4 (PS4) already 2 years old and there's no game in Japan that use UE4 on the PS4, none. It's an Unreal Epic Failure.
http://gamasutra.com/blogs/...
What have EPIC GAMES been doing for the past 2 years?
PS4 use x86 Architecture, the same architecture that Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10 are on and it doesn't cut down games development time, not even for indie games?
Game Development used to be 1-2 years including building a game engine. With UE4, it should cut 1 year of game development time. PS4 have collections of high-rating indies, none from Japan used Unreal Engine 4. This is another clear evidence that UE4 is a fail engine.
People blame Japanese developers for being slow and not many blame the game engine they bought from EPIC GAMES, the Unreal Engine. Announce in 2013, Kingdom Hearts would take about 4 years to make, if it is coming in 2017. Square Enix is big game publisher who loves money, they don't want games takes to long to developed, it loses them money. Shouldn't Paying for a functioning game cut the development time to 3? UE4 failed to do that.
Instead of blaming developers being slowpokes, most of them are not. Not everyone want's to spend 3-4 years developing a game, especially those who payed heftily for the a game like the UE4.
It is outrageous to wait 2 with years for an Unreal Engine 4 powered, Castlevania-style,indie game Bloostained produced by Koji Igarashi to come out when its developer doesn't need to spend months, years to build an engine for the game.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night which Koji Igarashi who was an assistant director and was involved with the story-writing and programming for the game. Totaling both the time to finish a working, functional, bug-less game engine for the PS1 and finishing the whole game only took them about 2 years.
Fast Forward 20 years later. Bloodstained developers decided to cut months of development time by buying an engine instead of spending months building their own engine for the game. Yet, projected time to complete Bloodstained is still about 2 years(2015-2017).
Anyone who knows Kogi Igarashi knows he is no slowpoke, he's a hardworker. Fundraiser, Kickstater Backer who paid for Bloodstained development kept Bloodstained Developer working hard, diligently and honest. People who worry and concern about Bloodstained should show concern, dissatisfaction towards Epic Games who made the game engine (UE4) which have huge influence for Bloodstained development progress, speed and efficiency, hopefully cuts Bloodstained development time significantly bring enjoyment to those paid for it sooner.
Argument about "engine switch", "slow developer" can be debunk by Grasshopper Studios, an Unreal Engine proficient, experienced developer who had created multiple games with Unreal Engine 4 predecessor, the Unreal Engine 3 (UE3) with games such as Shadows of the Damned, Killer is Dead and Lollipop Chainsaw. They Clearly know Unreal Engine capabilities and weaknesses.
They currently making PS4 Exclusive It Die formerly known as Lily Bergammo. To date they're still no specific date when will it be release in 2016. The game was revealed in April 2013. Would it be release before April 2016 or After? If it's after, That's 3 year dev time for developer who we could call Unreal Engine 3 expert.
Grasshopper games development time:
Shadows of The Damned (3 years)
Lollipop Chainsaw (2 years)
Killer Is Dead (2 years)
With all the experience and efficiency that Grasshopper Studio gains from making multiple games with UE3, UE4 doesn't cut UE3 development time for UE3 expert developer like Grasshopper. Let It Die/Lily Bergammo (PS4 Exclusive ~3 years Dev Time with UE4 from UE3 expert Grasshopper Studio).
It is clear Fact, even with PS4 Exclusivity, Unreal Engine 4 fail to cut development time significantly over Unreal Engine 3 in Japan.
People should stop from being bewitch by UE4 fancy graphics. It cost way too much time get game looks like that. It's competition like Unity 5 (U5) isn't to shabby either. It cost Final Fantasy 7 remake UE4 and Enlighten, a lighting engine that give realistic looking lighting in games. While Unity 5 bundled Enlighten for free. I don't want flame war between U5 and UE5, but rather technological war benefiting Game Developers in Japan.
So much Marketing Buzzword, Salesman sophistry. No once they mention about;
"It's Great and Epic making it getting Greater"
"It's Good, and Epic making it Better"
"Epic always working to make game making time shorter"
"Epic continuously making UE4 easier for developers".
All these UE4 Salesman, Marketer have is spams, personal attacks, insults, marketing buzzwords and very long game development time, to those who wants UE4 to get even better than before. These people wants EPIC to be lazy and not improving UE4.
Gamers and Developers would love to see;
UE4 cuts game development time.
Many games develop within 1-2years.
EPIC continuously making UE4 easier and faster for game developer, so games can be made done much faster and more games can be made.
Unreal Engine 4 can make beautiful scene, but it cost way too much time to make a game. I'm tired demanding these game engine maker Epic Games to make their engine Unreal Engine 4 faster and easier to use, the cost is way too high. With this blog I hope Gamers who are tired of waiting, speak out their dissatisfaction toward the engine maker of the favorite games like EPIC GAMES so they can be truly epic, Win for everyone, Win for Gamers.
Announcing the 10th Generation of Pokémon; Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves launches in 2027 worldwide. Starters also revealed!
Looks decent but I’ll wait for more info, Pokemon has this thing where the reveal looks super promising but they always fumble at release
The starters are a tad disappointing, the chonky dog looks adorable and probably my main pick so far but the other two are basically Rowlett and Sobble 2.0.

Get your facts straight please, Kingdom Hearts 3 was being developed FIRST using the Luminous Engine before making the switch to Unreal Engine 4 in 2014.
http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
And Kingdom Hearts 3 looks massive in comparison to any Kingdom Hearts in the series because its more open, and we don't know if it indeed open world or not. That jump from Mount Olympus is insanely big for a KH game and without loading screen is bigger than two worlds of Kingdom Hearts 2.
http://images.designntrend....
The game is no longer Linear, and KH was mostly linear. And the fact that Kingdom Hearts 3 team is helping both FFVII Remake and FFXV team means that they are no longer developing one game, but they are simultaneously developing three game.
So lets cut Unreal Engine 4 a slack eh?
So we blame the developer of the game engine for game developers not knowing how to use the engine? You cite Grasshopper, a dev with YEARS of experience with UE3, and then complain they are taking longer with a brand new engine?
Games are much more complex than before though.. HD plus a WAY higher polygon count in bigger games takes time.. Not to mention voicework etc.. You cant compare older games form the ps1 era to current gen.. Maybe they need to learn how to use UE4 as well which takes time.. IDK because im no programmer but im sure as time goes on, its only going to take longer and longer to make games.. UE4 is not to blame..
Since PS4 is only 2yrs old, why is there any complaints? It takes way longer than that to make a game.. The only reason theres so many games out already is because many are cross gen using engines they have and many were in development before PS4 launched using PCs with the required specs..
Poorly written. The author has no idea what he his talking about with poor research and misinformation. Seems like someone just has a personal biased and negative view on the stellar UE4 engine.
