My Opinion on Killzone 2's Multiplayer

I think i've owned this game three times since i had my playstation for christmas, i first got it because i read so much about it and wanted to try it for myself for the single player, now it had been out a year by the time i got it so as with most games i assumed the multiplayer would be pretty dead on it by now, so i didnt try out the multiplayer.

When i bought it a second time after trading it in at a time of dire need to buy a new game i decided to see if there was anyone on the multiplayer and boy was i surprised, i saw 2-3 full games of 32 players and immediately joined the quickest one i could.

Now the multiplayer on Killzone 2 is similar to CoD in that you get 'perks' in a way through ribbons and your classes are unlocked as you make your way through the ranks, the first one you can unlock is medic (its fairly amusing killing someone with the resurrection gun) which is a huge benefit to both your match XP and the team itself.

Teamwork is necessary in Killzone 2 and whether you have a headset or not you will never be on your own, with the objectives constantly changing (unless you're in a customised server) everyone on your team needs to work together to complete the objective otherwise you'll most likely lose the match.

This i found to be very different from the likes of Call of Duty where most of the time it is a free for all where every team player is out to get the #1 spot on the leaderboard and doesnt care to help anyone else on his/her team. That kind of gameplay ruins the multiplayer experience for me because if im playing in an online game, i expect for people to want to play with me not go it alone like rambo.

So to round it off, if you're looking for a beautiful looking game (even on an SDTV) with a great singleplayer and a multiplayer based on the foundations of teamwork then look no further than Killzone 2 until next year when Killzone 3D graces our playstations never to leave the disc slot!

did you just compare killzone to call of duty

Yes I also think Killzone's multiplayer is more deep than any other I've played, can't wait to see the improvments they make with Killzone 3.

KZ2's MP is probably my favorite part of the game.

The classes and game mode are awesome.

It was hardly a comparison it was just the first example that came to mind while i was writing it, sorry if it offended you.

Killzone 2 is WAY more realistic than Call of Duty. Plus online is not filled with cheaters and glitchers. It feels more fair and balanced when I play Killzone 2 compared to Call of Duty.

Did you even read his blog? He only compared KZ2 to COD ONCE and was referring to the classes you unlock to perks. Other than that, he even said KZ2 is much different than COD.

Killzone 2 takes skill and teamwork, COD is for noobs.

" QFT. The slow paced gameplay makes you think twice about setting a C4 or capturing territory alone.

KZ2 has the best online mp. What this game really needs is splitscreen with bots. No one plays online with bots because they aren't ranked. I've got over 30,000 points and nearly all the badges so I don't need to play ranked games anymore.

The singleplayer is great fun too if you pretend there is no story.
