Careers in Gaming – Be a CASTER

Some of you definitely doesn’t know that “who actually a caster is?” A caster actually isn’t too different
from a commentator. They are pretty much the same thing, in the sense that they offer commentary
during a game. There are mainly two kind of caster. Shout-caster and Color-caster. Shout-caster, basically
say it as they see it. A color-caster on the other hand, deals with the more technical and analytical aspect
of the game.

It’s important to note that casting is a niche in the already niche gaming scene in any country. The gaming
is nowhere near it’s peak. Casting isn’t viable as a fulltime profession until and unless you’re willing to put
in serious amount of dedication. It can be viable in future but as of right now, it’s not. Casting is not
everyone’s thing, it’s god gifted. If you all didn’t agree, you can try! After all it’s free.

You don’t even need
to good at games even pretty knowledge about that will roll out.

Are you ready to just start off? All you need is a mic. Preferably a good one. Oh, and another really
important thing you need is a good internet connection. If you are moving, into a more professional work
you’d need to upgrade your rig. The key to being a successful caster is to be regular.

Well, don’t expect huge salaries initially. You can expect around few hundred dollars per game you cast.
Rates can vary from game to game, depending upon your hard work, determination and ability.

The core of Caster is knowledge of the game and good command over language and speech. Other than
that they’re expected to be engaging with the audience. They need to be able to keep up with the pace
of the game and be clear when they speak.

When casting on streams or online tournaments, one of the
perks is that you can actively interact with the viewers. The perfect caster is the tomato ketchup, and your
game is like those yummy crispier chips. As a fact you need to know that people love the chips, anyways,
but would love it if they got a dip!

Humor is also something that an audience enjoys. Mixing humor with seriousness, finding a good balance
between both is important. This why there are usually two caster casting at a time, being more serious
than each other.

The hype is real and audience wants hype. They want a lot of hype. Be an enthusiastic
caster who keep all the matter on their toes. Everyone has their own quirks which is unique and stand
out.

Go and find your quirk!
